Re: "One in every nine members of the military now serving come from California. These people in Washington don't understand."

San Diego is in California, no? Did they move it while we weren't looking? So... no SF, but SD.... no worries.

It's sad that General Myatt is so delusional about the feelings of his fellow citizens. Perhaps he only associates with other military retirees. There are, surprisingly, a lot of them in the SF area.

As for the "people in Washington" not understanding, I think this just shows that they've finally tumbled onto what everyone else in the US already knows, regardless of where they are on the political spectrum.

Why don't they just pull all Military and Military associated jobs out of San FranSICKO....

Do you know how much a boost in a cities cash coffers, and businesses it is when Military men and women come into town and spend their money?

Remove all that.

Remove anything Military and anything associated with the military out of there.

Now since FEDERAL monies are directly related to military, I think these colleges, and cities that do not want the military even being around there, shout them down and make policies to keep them out; well I am sure they can do without federal money also right?

The military is not some out of state back country sheriff coming into your town and horning in on an investigation of the local police.

The military is part of the federal government, and what these colleges and cities are saying, is that they will take the federal monies like the good little gold diggers they are, but want to be able to do whatever they feel like it.

Essentially same thing as New Orleans.

[New Orleans]: Give us the money, we were hit by Katrina.

[Government]: Will you use it to rebuild?

[New Orleans]: Eehhhh...when we get around to it, yeah, maybe. We will definately THINK about it.
