Story here.
I think he’s one of the greatest UN ambassadors we’ve ever had. He will be missed, not by the people who think we should play nice with evil, but by the people who believe evil should be called for what it is.
Here’s Bush’s statement on Bolton’s resignation:
It is with deep regret that I accept John Bolton’s decision to end his service in the Administration as Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations when his commission expires.
Over a year ago, I appointed Ambassador Bolton because I knew he would represent America’s values and effectively confront difficult problems at the United Nations. He served his country with extraordinary dedication and skill, assembling coalitions that addressed some of the most consequential issues facing the international community. During his tenure, he articulately advocated the positions and values of the United States and advanced the expansion of democracy and liberty.Ambassador Bolton led the successful negotiations that resulted in unanimous Security Council resolutions regarding North Korea’s military and nuclear activities. He built consensus among our allies on the need for Iran to suspend the enrichment and reprocessing of uranium. His efforts to promote the cause of peace in Darfur resulted in a peacekeeping commitment by the United Nations. He made the case for United Nations reform because he cares about the institution, and wants it to become more credible and effective.
I am deeply disappointed that a handful of United States Senators prevented Ambassador Bolton from receiving the up or down vote he deserved in the Senate. They chose to obstruct his confirmation, even though he enjoys majority support in the Senate, and even though their tactics will disrupt our diplomatic work at a sensitive and important time. This stubborn obstructionism ill serves our country, and discourages men and women of talent from serving their Nation. [Preach it, Mr. Prez! --ST]
I thank John Bolton for the dedication and skill with which he performed his duties, and his wife Gretchen and daughter Jennifer Sarah for their support as Ambassador Bolton served his country. All Americans owe John Bolton their gratitude for a job well done.

I don’t blame Bolton one bit for leaving. The Democrats have turned our government into a series of leaks, witch hunts, and smear attacks. Who, with any character or integrity wants to hang around for the next KGB-Teddy Kennedy smear fest?
Sad!
- Just too serve the Dems right I really wish they’d put Jimmah up for the job. I’d just love to watch the blood bath. A public excoriation of one of America’s principal protagonists might help make up for this partisan mis-carraige in politics.
- Bang
I agree with Texas Rainmaker; I want my money returned to me.
The sad thing is, the GOP seems ot be trying to get even more of themselves thrown out of office with statements like this:
I am assuming we can expect Pence’s resignation now?
Didn’t they just get back from some sort of “break”?
And they are “tired” already?
It sounds to me like the GOP party is going to continue to lose if they keep with this attitude.
And Texas Rainmaker is spot on:
And Old Soldier, always a pleasure ot reead from, has the money quote:
Mr. Pence, you want to talk about tired, go visit the troops, and compare yours schedule to THEIRS!
You want to talk about tired?
Let’s put this into an illegal immigration quote that makes sense: The troops are doing the jobs that no one else wants to do or will do.
How about you give THEM a pay raise and quit griping how your just too tired and get your ass back to work for what your paid to do. If you can’t do that, then you need to quit or be fired so we can get someone in there TO DO THEIR JOB!!
MSM-Dems are like drips on concrete they do create holes. GOP needs to fill in the holes. Only Bush seems to mixing the concrete.
What a sad day that such as Bolton would feel it necessary to resign a gig for which he seems so well suited. Will Bush be able to find another with spine to stand up to the UN weinies? If he can, how long before the Dems get in the way yet again?
