I agree with Dana. There are already a number of crooks in the Democratic Party’s leadership, and the “more ethical than thou” campaign they ran this year was both dishonest and sanctimonious. But the MSM can deceive the people for only a limited time, and the number of Democratic knaves may be too many for them to successfully defend.

A bit off-topic: The Democrats’ growing “sleaze factor” problem may have been behind the recent spate of stories trying to resurrect the Mark Foley scandal. Democrats are already feeling the heat from the Nutroots for not handing over Iraq and Israel to al Qaeda the day after the election, and the perceived foot-dragging on the impeachment of Bush. Democrats better get cracking on all of these things if they want the tsunami of hate cash they have been receiving from the Nutroots to keep flowing into their party campaign coffers.

If William Jefferson (not Clinton) wins, you can bet the Democrats and the MSM will have no choice but to defend him by playing the well-worn race card. Will the GOP grow a spine and challenge Democrats on this? Don’t count on it! Still, Democrats and the MSM will have to take a well-deserved loss of credibility if WJ(-C) wins. That is worth rooting for.

I almost hope that Mr Jefferson wins. His opponent is just another liberal Democrat, so regardless of who wins, the representative will be a Democrat. It just helps us a bit if the winning Democrat is a thieving scumbag.
