Daniel Freedman has the best tribute post up I’ve seen on the death of former liberal Democrat and US ambassador to the UN under Reagan Jeane Kirkpatrick.

ST “A great woman with a powerful voice has passed on. She may be gone, but she will never be forgotten.” Another giant falls but her words live on. For example, Dictatorships and Double Standards By Jeane J. Kirkpatrick, the words still have the same meaning even if the names change. Then in 1979 “Groups which define themselves as enemies should be treated as enemies.” Now in 2007 we need to remember.
