John Kerry to visit troops in Iraq

Posted by: Sister Toldjah on December 13, 2006 at 11:49 am

To educate them, perhaps? ;) Greg Tinti has the details. Essentially, this is a ‘fact-finding’ mission for Kerry, or so it’s implied. Something tells me, though, that the only ‘facts’ he’s going to come back with are the ‘facts’ he wants to hear.

Speaking of, Amy Proctor has linked up to a video of US troops serving in Mosul who are fired up about how the media portrays them, their attitudes towards serving, and what’s going on over there. Make sure to watch the whole thing.

Update: Andi suggests we send some of these over to Iraq in advance of Kerry’s visit. Not a bad idea! ;)

Kerry wouldn’t know the “facts” or the “truth” if they smacked him in the butt. Unfortunately, those in the military can’t tell him what they really think of him when he asks questions as a U.S. Senator. Off the record with no media or officers around, though, and I’ll bet he’d get an earful.

  2. PCD says:

This is just a taxpayer paid campaign junket for Kerry. The only real fact finding I’d like Kerry to do is to meet up with an IED or some Al Quada for him to surrender to.

None of his ideas will work, but it will take him trying to work them in Iraq and costing him his life for him to learn the lesson.

  3. Lorica says:

Hell you might be on to something PCD. After all J F’ng met with our enemies before, why couldn’t he do the same now. I would love it if Osama kidnapped him and asked for money for his safe return. I could just see GW hanging up on OBL saying “We don’t negotiate with terrorists”. HAHA!!! You have to wonder if Terrrazzzza wouldn’t mind it if he went away since she now knows she will NEVER be 1st lady. I know it is a virtually impossible scenerio, and I don’t hope the guy dies, as I really do want to see him agonize after yet another Republican President is elected again and again and again. – Lorica

  4. Amy Proctor says:

John Kerry is going to get a chilly reception in Iraq. He has damaged his reputation beyond repair, and he wasn’t all that likeable to begin with. The troops highly resent his put downs, even he claims he was just insulting their commander in chief, which no one believes. And his insistence that he didn’t insult soldiers just makes it worse.

  5. PCD says:

My point, bluntly, is that idiots like Kerry, McCain, the media, and Hollywood don’t get it and won’t get it until they have to try to implement their surrender non-sense looking down gunbarrels and IEDs.

  6. benning says:

Wow! sKerry is going to Iraq? Well, then, now we know the War is won! Hooray! sKerry will end it for us! Hooray! And the troops will cheer him!

That’s right! No, that isn’t booing, folks, it’s the troops cheering! Listen as they say, “Youuuuuu!”

  7. Dana says:

Just what “facts” can you discover hiding in a Green Zone hotel or in the midst of a heavily armed escort?

And if the Honorable Mr Kerry did happen to be exposed to some of the good things that were happening in Iraq, our liberal friends would simply claim that he was just being shown a Potemkin village, set up to fool him.

  8. Drewsmom says:

Wanna bet Flicka comes back from Iraq and heads straight over to meet the depressed to tell timmy russert how glad the troops were to see him and how bad their morale is and he has a PLAN to end this.
I get so sick of hearing him and other moonbats talk about their plans but they never really say a damn thing.
If Flicka wasn’t a senator bet he’d get his ass kicked big time.:x

  9. Dave in CO says:

Treebeard won’t get within 10 feet of any GI who took offense. One of his arborists, er handlers, will see to that.

Then, he’ll come back and use that as proof that the whole thing was overblown and yet another Rovian plot.

  10. sanity says:

Kerry is probably going there not for the troops, but to go talk to the enemy, like he did in Paris.

I hope he tries to give some sort of press conference and try and show troops with him. I would love to see the troops turn their backs on him, or cross their fingers like the one soldier did in shaking Hillary Clinton’s hand the last time she went.

As muh as democrats try and portray the troops as stupid, they aren’t and they are going to see this and him for what he is….a farce, fake, and an increase in global warming in the region…

After watching that H&C clip, show me pumped! I can still remember older AF guys and gals bemoaning the “current generation” some 10, 20 years ago. This generation is cleaner, leaner and meaner than we ever were and that obviously goes for our sister services.

All one has to do is cycle back to late ‘01 for Afghanistan, and those 3 short weeks in the spring of ‘03 for Iraq and revisit what these troops did for all of us. They are truly the most highly motivated, intensely trained and rightly successful warriors our country’s ever been blessed with.

  14. Anita says:

It is now Dec 19th and we have heard little of Kerry’s visit. I can’t help but wonder why. Is it because our military is smart and dissing him. God I hope. Kerry is a democratic flunky, that has not a clue of what is actually going on. But then, maybe he is visiting with Hussain and telling him how sorry he,( kerry) is that hussain was captured. Kerry’s history of meeting with the enemy– makes him one of the top senators not to be trusted-ever. Hillary is number 2. Thanks troops for all your hard work.
