Ford should have pardoned him and that will be his legacy. Well that an "WIN" (whip inflation now). And his stumble.

Mark Belling was subbing for Limbaugh today and he had a real good observation. Ford also showed the world that we could remove one of our leaders transfer the power and the country would survive. Every 4 years we show the peaceful transfer of power and Nixon/Ford showed that the non elected transfer of power would be peaceful as well. Something a lot of countries cannot do...

I think it took courage for Gerald Ford to pardon Richard Nixon, knowing it would in all likelyhood end his political career, but the alternative would be to paralyze the government with a trial that would exasperate the divisions in our country at the time. R.I.P. to a real leader, who could put Country before self.

I'll miss President Ford. Yes, he was absolutely right to pardon Nixon. He had hoped to put the controversy in the past, but unfortunately he didn't succeed.

May he rest in peace.
