Wait a minute….I thought Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Isn’t that what the Dems and their MSM allies have been screaming at us constantly for three years now? So maybe the MSM wants to explain why this comparison is at all relevant, Hmm?

No, I didn’t think they would….but in their ghoulish way, it’s sort of a backhanded admission that Iraq really is a major front in the WOT.

The media has been using everything it can use to paint the picture in the most ominous possible way. The main tool is the bodycount tool. You keep holding up to the public how many soldiers die and soon, all they’ll think of is soldiers dying. Next is the Iraqi count, but we will usually see only some great total that doesn’t necessarily mean they are all innocent civilians, but the projection that they are innocent is a great bookend with the soldier count. Translation: We’re killing a lot of our own just to kill tons of theirs. No other progress of any kind is being reported. How lucky that they now have the story of the British disrupting a death squad within police ranks. How perfect there’s another sad story with which to underscore the main plot.

egad; the media must be mostly male, as they’ve been ‘keeping score’ on war casualties since Vietnam, in my personal memory.

BTW, in my mind’s eye, I keep a flag flying at half-mast for the victims of the 9-11 attacks… just one day for each victim.

The flag is still flying at half-mast, here in 2006. It will only fly at half-mast for about 2.5 more years…

Stupid people. Body countshave nothing to do with it (interestingly, Garry Trudeau, of all people, mocked the “body count” headlines during Vietnam. I wonder what he’d say now?)

It only goes to show you how lucky we got on Sept. 11th. If those towers would have collapsed 30 mins earlier or collapsed on impact, how many more people would have died. God Bless All the Heros in the War on Terror, and their families too. – Lorica

Well, of course the ~~opponents of the war and supporters of the Islamic fascists~~ media are counting every death, and using every purported “milestone.” When it’s done that way, the only news is that another soldier or Marine has been killed, rather than anything about what is being accomplished, or what the mission of our troops is.
