It's Bush's war, and he'll lose it, even if they are the ones pulling the rug out from under. But don't question their patriotism, okay? Incidentally, I was speaking with a Canadian yesterday, one of the ones who had enlisted in the US Army and fought in Vietnam. He said that this summer he drove around the US, stopped at several military bases, and was more impressed than he'd ever been by the troops he saw. According to him, today's soldiers are the best the US has ever fielded. I believe he's right. They're head and shoulders above the ones I served with in the seventies and eighties, who I thought were awfully good (well, later on in that time frame anyway).
