NYT characterizes Biden comment as an “oops!”

Posted by: Sister Toldjah on February 1, 2007 at 12:47 pm

Yeah, he didn’t mean to say it that way!

Now, let me see – would they treat allegedly racist comments made by conservatives the same way?

Absolutely not.

Semi-related: With inconsistent positions like these, it’s no wonder the NYT isn’t doing so well.

    *cut to Biden news conference:

/tap /tap /tap “Is this thing on?? I just want to apologize from my macaca moment…I mean my John Kerry moment… I mean my Sen. Byrd moment… Ohhh hell, I am sorry I am a racist!!! Ok There I don’t have to hide anymore. Take that and run with it. Cuz I know that the Democrats in Maryland will continue to vote for me, they don’t even matter anymore. Ohhhh how I long for the old days when Maryland was a slave state!”

LOL Poor Joe shot himself in the foot before he even got started. I don’t think that this man should be let off so easily. – Lorica

Every four years, Joe Biden makes yet another attempt to climb to the top of the greasy pole, and every four years, he does something dumb, and he slides back down again.

There is only one explanation for his bizarre performances: he think he ought to be running for president, but in his heart being president is the last thing he really wants to be.

Just to point out the obvious…Had any conservative uttered Sen. Biden’s words, (s)he’d already have been denounced, pilloried and crucified by the same Biden enablers.

It was once told to me why Democrats seem to get away with so much, besides a complacent news media that seem to side mostly with democrats, it was said that the reason republicans get hammered harder is because they book themselves as the party of morality 9christian ase and such), so whe something happens like foley or someone else saying something wrong (like biden just did) they hit the republicans harder and democrats barely get a blip on it.

A double standard if you will.

But then I guess if they say the reason republicans get hit harder because they bill themselves as the party of morality….what does make the democrat party? The immorality party? [chuckle - a joke sorta]

  5. Steve Skubinna says:

There’s more that what you describe, sanity. When Republicans do something disgraceful they resign. When Dems do it, they go on TV, denounce the hateful people who point out their transgressions, bite their lower lip, eyes glistening, ask for forgiveness, and get it.

  6. Steve Skubinna says:

    Reminds me of the joke:

One man asks another, “Have you ever made one of those Freudian slips?”

The other man says “Oh yeah, I did one last week I’m still paying for. At breakfast I meant to ask my wife to pass the orange juice, but what came out was ‘You stupid b**ch, you’ve f**ked up my life!”

Noticed something interesting on the Rueter’s catption of their story…

Bush seeks $100 billion for wars in 2007.

Are we in more than one war at this time?

    - President George W. Bush will ask Congress for $99.7 billion for the Iraq and Afghanistan wars…

Are we still at war in Afghanistan?

Now we are at war with two countries in 2007.

How long before we hear the bleating of Bush’s TWO wars now?

But this little tidbit was interesting though…

The administration official declined to comment on overall domestic spending, but said Bush will project a balanced budget within five years and a surplus for 2012.

ARGH! ST can you fix the link, I somehow messed up the link and must not have closed the tag on the link.

  9. Fixed sanity – btw, did you mean to put this in another thread?

This was the closest related to media I could find, and you didn;t have a openthread handy hehheh..

NYT characterizations and Rueters mischaracterizations I suppose you could call it heh heh
