Snow in Charlotte

Posted by: Sister Toldjah on February 4, 2007 at 12:22 pm

As promised (albeit a little late), here are pictures of what the snow looked like here in Charlotte last Thursday. I only got one from my house because my camera batteries died (argh!) and it didn’t come out well but I did get a few good ones at mom and dad’s, which I’ll post below. All in all, I think we got about two inches, and it started melting around noon.

Taken from the front door at mom and dad’s.

Also taken from the front door, different angle.

Wooded area at mom and dad’s.

Cat paw prints in the snow ;)

NC is my home state. I grew up outside of Gibsonville–around Burlington and Elon College–You might have read about my old HS, Eastern Guilford, burning down last November.

I don’t mind telling you I miss the snow these days.
Down here in Pensacola, we don’t get snow. Thanks for the pics. It kind of makes me homesick, but in a good kind of way.

Snow in February – photographic evidence of obvious runaway global warming.

Very nice! I love it! The pictures, that is, not the actual snow.

    You call that snow?

  6. Lorica says:

LOL Dana!!!! I have to agree tho. When you all get a good 8 inch dumped on you at one time then you can call it snow. That my Dear, is a frosting of moisture. It is good that Miss Muffie is out and about making sure things in her domaine are running smoothly. =)) – Lorica

Aren’t you glad that the heiarchy of Global Warming chose such a frigid person as their High Priestess?

Up here in the land of cheese and beer, we never got out of the negative land today.

Thanks for the pics ST. Coincidentally, they show up a primary problem with auto-exposure cameras, a predominantly white background will be underexposed by most camera meters by about 2 stops, as the camera tries to meter everything assuming it has an average reflectivity of an 18% gray card. I’m gonna show this to my bud at work tomorrow, he’s just got into photography and we were discussing this but I didn’t have a good example photo handy.
