One of the Border Patrol agents recently convicted in a farce of a trial was beaten by several prisoners in a medium security facility:

How do they fix it? They move the victim to maximum security.

Happy 96th birthday to Ronald Reagan.

IMHO, February 6 should be a national holiday.

:(( While nursing a dislocated shoulder, I’ve realized I can type as usual, but much sloooower…tree removal is dangerous stuff even when being as safe as possible-be safe out there.
While browsing the “news” I came upon this interview from MSNBC’s site with the Iranian Ambassador to Baghdad, Babak Dehghanpisheh. The questioning begins with Bush’s statement regarding killing or arresting Iranians who are helping arm terrorist/sectarian fighters. Anyone who’s been paying attention for the past several years knows that Iran has been up to their eyeballs in Iraq, yet the MSM wants us to think this is a new revelation (expletive deleted)…When the Ambassador is asked about Bush’s statement and his “correction” (he didn;t really mean we should kill Iranians), Babak says,

“It’s good that he corrected his statement. For the government of America it’s not a good thing–a responsible leader shouldn’t make such statements against another country.”
Well isn’t that nice? Babak is making moral pronouncements on America, while his president calls for the destruction of Israel and America.

I have only two thoughts on this insanity.
      1. Bush should re-clarify his statement on Iranians found to be fighting and/or assisting with materials. Iranians found doing thus should be killed. They are the enemy. He should make THAT understood and make no apologies for it.

      2. MSNBC should comment on their own interview, conndemning the statement by Mr. Dehghanpisheh and expose him and the Iranian president for the murders of American soldiers and Iraqi civilians that they are.

Many of us are tired of this war. Most of us should be more tired of the US Administration playing the politically correct game they have been playing in an attempt to have their cake and eat it too. The cake was given to the Democrats last November…get over it and win this war. Make no apologies for any policy that kills the enemy faster and stop trying to play nice with the terrorists from Iran.

Next time I’ll tell you all how I really feel.

An excellent commentary on the whole liberal/socialist “it’s not your fault” ideology here:

Which brings me to my final missive for today – and that is the fact that this “touchy-feely” mindset that’s runnin’ rampant nowadays is damn near screwin’ up everything in this country.

Nobody wins or loses anymore, especially if you’re a kid. No, it’s a group hug and a “nice try” and everybody plays. Ah, excuse me, but as I recall, even in Little League you had to try out. Now? It’s somehow “detrimental” to the kid and reinforces his or her “deep-seated feelings of rejection” should they not be allowed to play. I’m surprised there’s not a social worker required at every game these days, it’s gettin’ so damn ridiculous.

And this attitude is everywhere too. Don’t get good grades because you’re a lazy ass and play video games all day? Wait long enough and someone will come up for an excuse for you. Is the test too hard? Well, don’t worry about it, you’ll do better next time – and if you don’t, we’ll talk it through and pass you anyway.

It’s nobody’s fault for anything anymore. We’re unleashing mindless automatons on society who have never been accountable for anything in their lives since pre-school. There’s always an excuse or a “oh, it’s okay” or some sort of nonsense ready at the drop of a hat that absolves everyone from everything. And if that doesn’t work, well, we’ll just sue somebody because it’s not my fault. How can it be? It’s never been my fault for anything ever since I can remember.

Burn the house down when you were a kid because you were playing with charcoal starter and matches? Don’t worry, “He had a traumatic incident befall him as a child, and it has scarred him for life. He doesn’t take to harsh words very well.” In other words, nobody kicked his ass from here to Sunday for being an irresponsible idiot.

What happened to teachin’ kids that there are winners and losers in everyday life and that nobody gets a free pass for just showin’ up? That there is no practical substitute for hard work and that no one is just going to just hand things to you. That you’re gonna get knocked down once in a while and that you’re even going to get your ass kicked now and then. And yes, that you might even lose. That, as weird as it may sound, you might end up in a work environment reporting to a boss who doesn’t like you and really doesn’t give a rat’s ass about what you’re “feeling” on that particular day – that you better get your work done or you’re going to get your ass fired.

Sad to say, it seems to be the New American Way – no accountability, no hard feelings, no harm and no foul. Hug it out at the end of the day, and we’ll all be better off for it. And if someone is being particularly difficult, well, we’ll just sue their ass. Or, if you get yourself in particularly deep shit, you can always get a free pass to seek counseling.

In the immortal words of Vince Lombardi, “What the Hell is goin’ on out there!”

    7. sanity says:

Least teachers of Islamic schools admit they teach crap – you have to admire that they still will not change though.

We do use books that call Jews ‘apes’ admits head of Islamic school

The principal of an Islamic school has admitted that it uses textbooks which describe Jews as “apes” and Christians as “pigs” and has refused to withdraw them.

Dr Sumaya Alyusuf confirmed that the offending books exist after former teacher Colin Cook, 57, alleged that children as young as five are taught from racist materials at the King Fahd Academy in Acton.

      ….

The school is owned, funded and run by the government of Saudi Arabia. Mr Paxman asked: “Will you now remove this nonsense from the Saudi Ministry of Education from your school?”

Dr Alyusuf replied: “Just to reiterate what I said earlier, there are chapters from these books that are used and that will serve our objectives. But we don’t teach hatred towards Judaism or Christianity – on the contrary.”

      ….

In his employment tribunal claim Mr Cook, who taught English at the school for 19 years, has accused it of poisoning pupils’ minds with a curriculum of hate. Arabic translators have found that the books also describe Jews as “repugnant”.

      ….

Pupils have allegedly been heard saying they want to “kill Americans”, praising 9/11 and idolising Osama bin Laden as their “hero”.

Sure seems like hatred when you call jews apes and christians pigs….how is this not teaching hatred?

And exactly wwhat objectives are you trying to teach / reach?

    8. Baklava says:

ST, I know you know this burns me up. The lying media do this everyday. The stories coming out about Bush’s budget cuts in health are just too much for me even though I’ve seen it since my conversion from liberalism (after visiting the library 3 times a week that year) in 1991.

I just about believe that all liberals should repent for 10 years and have no freedom of speech for what they have done with this baseless lying and aiding and comforting the enemy and – of course that would be a ridiculous policy but a national apology and change of their rhetoric is in order. There is no way you can debate liberals when they don’t recognize black and white facts of increases are not cuts and that their rhetoric is demoralizing to our troops and helpful to the enemy.

Whew. That felt good. Can I get an amen??!!

    9. Severian says:

      Amen brother!
