So in 1999, ABC News – a card-carrying member of the MSM establishment – was able to air a report detailing some of the cooperation between Saddam Hussein and al Qaeda. But suddenly, as soon as Bush became president, we were supposed to believe that the two had nothing to do with each other. Somehow, we’re expected to forget what was already known and conclude that Bush and some cabal of neocons drove AQ into Saddam’s arms.

Why the 180 degree change? Simple – it would help Dems get elected. It would be too much to expect your average liberal to stick to principles here and say, wait a minute – that isn’t what you said two years ago. Given the choice between having America succeed fighting terrorism or having America fail fighting terrorism, the left wants failure – as long as there’s a Republican president who might accrue some benefit from our success. It’s one more bit of evidence that the left puts achieving power over the good of the nation.

Somebody needs to get that Nina Easton video and post it. She was just on Fox News Sunday and said that the war in Iraq was not justified due to Iraq and Al Qaeda links – she said if you go back it was always about WMD’s and the intelligence on that from the 2002 NIE report was wrong as it had been wrong for years even before Bush.

Unfortunately no matter if the video is played 10 times daily on CNN liberals will be making false accusations about Bush cooking the intelligence or whatever.

It doesn’t matter any more. We know the truth and the left know it’s “truth”. Saddam could come back from the dead and confess to WMD, Niger uranium purchases and nuke weapon programs and the left would call it a Bush conspiracy to force them to believe in the afterlife and God…

Liberals and Democrats (but I repeat myself) have taken a page right out of the former Soviet Union’s and Orwell’s MiniTruth playbook, erase any inconvenient information or history that conflicts with your current spin. Just as the USSR airbrushed out people who were no longer acceptable, and Orwell’s MiniTruth (Ministry of Truth) removed stories and people, made them disappear from all records, so the lib/Dems are lying and distorting and pretending like what they did and said in the past never existed. And the insulting thing is that they expect us to just nod our heads and agree with them that the past never existed. And the depressing thing is that so many of the deluded fools out there that makeup the MSM and liberal voters go along with it.
