Sister, I can imagine that I’m the last person you’d want to wish you well. At the risk of having my little bouquet of good will thrown down and stomped on, let me wish you a Happy Valentines Day! All the best—I really mean it.

And Lorica, may I say that you look especially lovely today (it’s a sick joke—don’t ask if you weren’t there). Best wishes to you and all my other debating partners here—sincerely!

What did all you do for the apple of your eyes today?

I surprised mine with a made bed and a large Hershey’s Special Dark Chocolate bar.

If I can get her out tonight, I plan on steering her into the local Choclatier and buy her a box of Dark Chocolates.

Tomorrow, (not so busy as she can’t tolerate crowds) I’m taking her to Perkins to get a gluten free meal.

Happy Valentine’s Day! I’m in the process of importing all my ancient posts into my current domain, and was reminded of when we were both fledgling bloggers and you were wondering if your traffic would pick up.

And look at you now. :) Keep up the good work! Both I and my former soldier husband are grateful to folks like you for keeping things honest!

Rep. Ellison calls the cops to snuff Tancredo’s cigar

Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) believes it is his right as a Muslim to be sworn into Congress with the Quran. But apparently, the freshman lawmaker doesn’t believe it’s Rep. Tom Tancredo’s (R-Colo.) right to smoke a cigar in his congressional office.

The Valentine gift (calling the cops on him) from his Muslim congressman brother.

Instead of talking to him, he instead opts to call the cops.

as the church lady would say…”Isn’t that Speeecial”.

    Google censors MIT Graphic:

Internet search engine company Google has self-censored a graphic produced by three MIT researchers showing the trajectory and impact of China’s Jan. 11 anti-satellite test.

Google excluded the graphic in an apparent attempt to avoid angering Chinese officials, U.S. officials said.

Google has been criticized in the past for appeasing the Chinese government in its search engine postings.

According to officials, three MIT researchers, Geoff Forden, Ted Postol and Subrata Ghoshroy, produced a color graphic showing the flight path of the missile that destroyed an orbiting Chinese weather satellite by ramming it with a non-explosive warhead.

Photo exhibit bares wounds of U.S. troops in Iraq

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Images of medics treating horrific injuries in Iraq and the anguished faces of wounded U.S. soldiers are juxtaposed in a new exhibit with pictures of youthful veterans back home dealing with life as amputees.

“The Sacrifice,” by award-winning war photographer James Nachtwey, shows U.S. soldiers in Iraq receiving frantic medical treatment in a helicopter and medics working to repair the carnage of war at a field hospital.

That chaos is shown beside more tranquil views, such as a returned serviceman with a prosthetic leg holding his surfboard after riding a curl and a one-legged young man chatting with his fiancée during a break from his rehabilitation regimen.

“This is one of the costs of this war. The money is the easy part. This, the injuries and the people that are lost, is the real cost,” Nachtwey said while hanging the exhibit, which opens on Friday at 401 Projects.

“It’s important for the people of our country to understand the nature of the sacrifice being made.

“These are mainly young people, mainly in their 20s, athletic, active people who have sustained a great loss and want to move on with their lives.”
