I have already sent thank you messages to our Texas reps that voted against this measure.
I also sent a scathing email to the miserable RINO Ron Paul, expressing my disgust in his support and the desire that his presidential aspirations fail miserably. I realize Paul is following his unfailing stance regarding the war, as he was never for it.
I do not care. The message is still a terrible one for our country and our troops in the field, not to mention the Iraqis, who are depending on us.
I know this measure means nothing, that it changes nothing – at least in regards to the decision President Bush made, but what a horrible message to send out!
I am sure A Q is lapping this up.
More fodder for the terrorists to feed upon.
The threat of denying funding for our troops is appalling. This is not going to hurt the President, other than one more battle he must face, but it is going to hurt the soldiers out in harm’s way. Could we send Murtha and Pelosi over there and leave them exposed, for lack of funding for their protection?
This is unbelievable.

These Democrats, and their Republican allies, seem to care very little for the lives of those Iraqis who have stood up for civilization and against terrorism. If a million of these people are killed in the aftermath of a withdrawal, I don’t think Pelosi and her associates would even lose any sleep.

There are times when one must abandon an ally–Churchill did it in 1940–but it is a very serious thing and should never be engaged in lightly or purely out of domestic political calculation.

The next time a “progressive” goes on about his great humanitarian concern for people of other countries/cultures/races, keep this great betrayal clearly in mind.

I’m very disappointed in Howard Coble. I met with him shortly after I got back from Iraq and he asked me all sorts of questions about it. I could tell he was having reservations about his vote, but I did not expect him to be a part of this. Very disappointing…..

On a related note: Embattled Louisiana Rep. Jefferson Gets Homeland Security Seat. Soooo ... instead of being in a position to steal more taxpayer dollars, he is now in a position to steal taxpayer dollars and national security secrets. Are you scared yet? To all Republicans and independents who either stayed home or voted for the Democrat candidate during the last election "in order to teach the GOP a lesson" - are you pleased with the lesson you are being taught?
