Yup, just exactly like the “if it’s important enough it’s OK if we lie about it” approach Gore and the AGW proponents push. That’s the liberal mantra, only Liberals get to decide what’s important, and if they have to lie, cheat, and steal to get it implemented, well, then, that’s OK. That’s what moral relativism will do for you.

Just practice the following phrase:

“That was then, this is now.”

Even though it has not been used in precisely that formulation since Gary Hart fouled the nest with it, it’s nonetheless the default explanation by most politicians, and nearly all Democrats, for a change in expressed policy. If you can internalize that phrase so that every zig and zag is blithely dismissed with a variation, delivered with natural intonation without pause or reflection, you are ready for politics.

Had this type of article appeared in September 2008, I would have been impressed (although “astonished” would be a more accurate word). But in early 2007 I would not read anything into the WaPo’s anguished comments. When the ‘08 election rolls around, the WaPo will be in full bootlicking mode.

No matter how bad it gets in Congress – and the worst is yet to come – the MSM will always protect their pampered Democrat pets.

And at some point the Stupid Party will eventually get the message – you cannot count on the MSM to tell the truth.
