Did they elect Ned Lamont? No!
Will they unseat Rep. Tauscher (who, as the article notes, received 68% of the vote in the last election)? No!

So far (and let us hope this remains so) they have made quite a bit of noise and accomplished not very much.

Ummm…actually, no, Brian. The people who reinforce that idea would be people like Kos, Amanda Marcotte, Melissa McEwan, the Truther loons, and the assorted collection of hate-spewers who frequent sites like DU and LiarDogFake. Not to mention Screamin’ Howard Dean.

But going back to the main point – this strikes me as one where the Kossacks could actually pull it off. It’s not unrealistic to think the extreme left could unseat Tauscher in a primary. This is, remember, the East Bay, right across from Pelosiville and right in the neighborhood of others, like Fortney Stark, who already have taken the leap off the ‘left cliff’. It’s a virtual moonbat wildlife sanctuary out there.

So if they did pull a Lamont, they’d certainly win the seat in November if Tauscher didn’t wage an independent campaign, and they’d have a good chance even if she did.

All of which wouldn’t bother me in the slightest. It would remove one of the adult from the Dem leadership and make them even more shrill and unhinged than they now are. That might play OK in the SF Bay area, but as the Dems lurch further left, how many centrist voters in places like Missouri, Ohio, and Florida will they turn off? More than an even swap, in my view.

The nutters think they’ve got more than a mandate for sure. So much so they are hurting their “moderates” which is funny because Ellen Tauscher according to the Washington Post article votes with the Democrats 100% of the time and gets “F’s” from conservative think tanks.

Just think. We have 18 more months of this kind of crap and it’s certain to get worse. I did mention the leftist Dems “true colors,” didn’t I?
