They aren't with us. They are against us. I've seen that for over a decade. I had hopes after 9/11 - but I saw endless chatter about how the Russians couldn't hold Afghanistan and we can't stand a winter there, etc.

80% drop in attacks is news worthy don't you think???

An article in Time to cover their butts but the majority of Dumbocrats don't know this drop in attacks exists probably (just like I didn't) because it's not a drumbeat of a story like they do with the stories that's part of their agenda.

Baklava - I like this quote from your source:

When things don't go well in Iraq, we see the endless B-roll of chaos and carnage. When things are on the upswing, we tend to hear more about Anna Nicole Smith. The media will never acknowledge victories in Iraq, so we'll have to settle for an absence of bad coverage.

This is the MSM in a nutshell. No one will ever convince me that they are not flacking for the terrorists.

Lorica- that sounds yummy! If you had a bottle of my Shoyu and marinated that roast at least one full day, those Italians would have to jump ship! I can't even get it here in my adopted hometown. I have to order it by the case from Kyushu.

I understand the prob w/American yogurt Lo. Grow your own. No chemicals and articified flavor crap added. I get 20 liters at a time from a local dairymen and SO VERY, very different than anything you've ever tasted, GUARANTEED!

So if you did the deed MA, would it be known as Marshall Art? :o

I better get back to work. I read blender for lavender and mentally swapped an E for an O in toddy. Fermented palm sap can definitely produce arrack and the big kids know what teddy's can lead to......BT - hunter out.

Recipe for getting well....

- Hot steaming bath filled with Lavender.

- Lights turned off as you soak and only lit by a dozen candles.

- A hot toddy before curling up under a heating blanket and watching a good movie as you drift off to sleep....

Hope you feel better soon ST.

My new Chili is a chicken chili that I think is going to be wonderful.

This should really read my new idea for a chili is a chicken chili. My actual new chili was a slow grilled Sirloin roast chili with peppers and a touch of sweet BBQ sauce. Took me 4 hours to grill a 5 pound roast. It won 2nd place out of about 35 contestants, and everyone told me that the chili who won, an Italian chili, tasted like spice spaghetti sauce. - Lorica

That sounds pretty good Forest. Well except the yogurt mayo thing, but I have used yogurt in different ways. Have you tried a honey crisp apple, they are pretty good. I love a good Fuji as they are Always crisp. I bet that goes pretty well with a brat too. :D

I have another idea for a new Chili. My last chili took 2nd place in a local chili cook off. I was pretty happy about that. My new Chili is a chicken chili that I think is going to be wonderful. :) I might have to trade you for some of your potato(e) salad. - Lorica

New recipe! I had a NEED for potato salad so I went the fridge to parlay the contents into a culinary delight. One Vidalia short, I made due with onions from my neighbors garden (for the record - he gave them to me) which are a bit hot and I should've cut'em much smaller. (As beads of sweat piled upon his brow, he pressed on!)

Anyway, APPLE that's not as crisp as I like, spuds, carrots, dill pickles, eggs, crazy salt and the forest hunter famous mayo/yogurt dressing (both homemade). Store bought and or salad dressing for those who don't care for mayo will do. Dressing ratio of mayo/yogurt (I call it maygurt - yoyo is reserved for toys and certain polidrones) according to taste and mustard if ya got it (I had hot onions). I use a 60/40 split yogurt strong.

Yummy goodness!

Budget Deficit Shrinking To Half Of Average Size Since 1970...

Despite the ongoing costs of US military campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan, the outlook for the federal budget has grown substantially brighter.

Tax revenues are rising much faster than spending, according to Treasury Department numbers released last week. The recent trend is strong enough that, were it to continue, the budget could move into surplus in barely a year, one economist calculates.

....

Some experts say the budget could achieve balance in the short run of the next few years. In unveiling its proposed budget this month, the Bush administration forecast black ink on the federal ledger in 2012. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO), in its recent annual outlook, also shows a surplus for that year.

A year ago, the CBO's forecast for the 2007 fiscal year called for a deficit of $270 billion. In the annual outlook released last month, the 2007 gap is projected at $172 billion.

Go read the rest.

Meanwhile it seems Greffen is rankling some Clinton Campaign Feathers....

Hillary Clinton's campaign apparently didn't take too kindly to the harsh rhetoric from L.A. music mogul David Geffen, courtesy of today's Maureen Dowd. Geffen, who is backing Barack Obama, called Bill Clinton "reckless" and clearly is still upset that Clinton didn't grant a pardon to cause celeb native American Leonard Peltier. More Geffen: "Marc Rich getting pardoned? An oil-profiteer expatriate who left the country rather than pay taxes or face justice?"

Clinton chief spokesperson Howard Wolfson, in a release this a.m., is "demanding that" Obama "disavow personal attacks" from Geffen.

Link

Meanwhile it seems Greffen is rankling some Clinton Campaign Feathers….

Hillary Clinton’s campaign apparently didn’t take too kindly to the harsh rhetoric from L.A. music mogul David Geffen, courtesy of today’s Maureen Dowd. Geffen, who is backing Barack Obama, called Bill Clinton “reckless” and clearly is still upset that Clinton didn’t grant a pardon to cause celeb native American Leonard Peltier. More Geffen: “Marc Rich getting pardoned? An oil-profiteer expatriate who left the country rather than pay taxes or face justice?”

Clinton chief spokesperson Howard Wolfson, in a release this a.m., is “demanding that” Obama “disavow personal attacks” from Geffen.
