I think a Rudy/Condi ticket would rock personally. And potentially set her up for a presidential run after Rudy's term is completed.

Sev, that's so sick if I loved it any more my head would explode...leaving nothing but little bits of confetti, which some poor schlep would have to clean up. Which brings me to my obligatory reminder that the Diceman returns Sunday, March 4th, VH-1, 10 pm.

The only thing that stands between Rudy and Inauguration Day, 2009 is the media. There will be that ever-present bloc who will dig in like WWI trench warfare at the very thought of one Repub prez succeeding another, no matter what he says or does. Since he is an accomplished charmer, though, there may be more than a few who will succumb and drift just enough in our direction to make it happen.

My VEEP choice has always been Condi, but I already know how that'll get received in certain quarters. Take your best shot.

You know, that reminds me, whenever I go out for dinner and have to leave a name, I use Donner, as my own name gets mangled in pronunciation too often. I just get a kick out of hearing "Donner party of 2 your table is ready." So far no one else has gotten the joke, our educational system needs improving obviously...:d

From your lips to God's ears...

That would be one mud wrestling contest that would be marvelous to behold, the level of vitriol and hatred would be mind boggling.

The Democrats are utterly desperate to recapture the White House. If they become convinced that Hillary can't do it, they'll turn to someone else -- and Hillary will then work against the Democratic nominee: she'll be too old to contend for the presidency in 2016.

Rudy would trash the Breck Girl. Once Edwards positions get the light of day, he'll drop fast.

I think the social issues aren't hurting Rudy yet because after all the political crud over the last 14 years, the people are looking to someone they trust first. Hillary, Edwards, McCain have no trust. They have been in front of the cameras a lot and have the icky slime feeling about them. Obama is an empty suit. That's why despite all the media hype, Hillary leads 2-1 over him. When his real views hit the airwaves, he's toast.

Rudy, for all his warts (and there are quite a few of them), ran NYC by cutting taxes *AND* cutting spending. He cut crime not by making excuses (did you hear that Dinkins?) but by jailing the criminals. And when all hell broke loose, he kept his head and lead the city. I loved when the Saudi Sheik offered 10 mil to NYC to help, and then made some comments about America needing to look at itself for 9/11. Rudy told him to shove the 10 mil up his, well, he told him no thanks. Does anyone think that Bush would have done that? Hillary? Obama? Edwards? No way.

He's not afraid of negative press. Everytime the NYT howled about a policy, he smiled, waved and continued.

After 8 years of Bill "never met a law that shouldn't be broken" Clinton and George "I'll run as a conservative and govern as a lib" W Bush people want someone who will take an issue and stick to it. For good or for bad. You may not like all of Rudy's stands, but you know where he stands and how he'll govern.

The last guy like that was Reagan. Not all the dems who voted for him supported his social views, but they trusted him and knew he would govern as he said. My opinion is that is what people are looking for now.

There was one item in Allah's article that horrified me. Pretty Boy Edwards was behind Giulani by only 46%-44%.

It may be a growing distaste for Hilly the Hun and the Empty Suit Obama that is giving the Pretty Boy a boost (although I still think the Hun will win and take the Empty Suit as her boy-toy Veep). But people should be alarmed that Edward's Catholic-bashing does not seem to be a negative. Perhaps, like Jimmy Carter's anti-Semitism, it will only add to his perverse stature.

I think the MSM may be misjudging. After the buyers remorse I think many are having now that they realize what staying home or going Dem has produced, as they watch the constant whining and backstabbing coming out of Congress, I'm not sure that pointing out Rudy's more liberal attitudes will do that much to discourage conservatives from voting for him. After all, the alternative would be the Hildabeast or Obama-mama. But, they just might convince some liberals and swing Democrats that he's OK because he is a bit of a social liberal.

It appears the left's strategery to remind us of Rudy's stance on some social issues isn't quite working. Surely they'll get to the fact he's been married three times before long.
