Who was the 'Can ya see me now?' after-market pair of globes framed with the black storefront that Gore was stuck to, when Mr. Bedhead turned and as if to say "HEY! I'm TALKIN' here!"

It's very hard to believe that Mr. Bedhead and the other actors were moved to act. I suggest they continue their moving acting back to the planet from whence they came. al-Algore can go back to his mansion and act like was all a dream.

Al Gore a "green" prophet? I don't think so. Mega-hypocrite is closer to the mark. From Drudge:

POWER: GORE MANSION USES 20X AVERAGE HOUSEHOLD; CONSUMPTION INCREASE AFTER 'TRUTH'
Mon Feb 26 2007 17:16:14 ET

The Tennessee Center for Policy Research, an independent, nonprofit and nonpartisan research organization committed to achieving a freer, more prosperous Tennessee through free market policy solutions, issued a press release late Monday:

Last night, Al Gore's global-warming documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, collected an Oscar for best documentary feature, but the Tennessee Center for Policy Research has found that Gore deserves a gold statue for hypocrisy.

Gore's mansion, [20-room, eight-bathroom] located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).

In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.

The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh—more than 20 times the national average.

Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh—guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore's average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.

Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore's energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.

Gore's extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore's mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.

"As the spokesman of choice for the global warming movement, Al Gore has to be willing to walk to walk, not just talk the talk, when it comes to home energy use" said Tennessee Center for Policy Research President Drew Johnson.

In total, Gore paid nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for his Nashville estate in 2006.

Oh the humanity! Oh the hypocrisy! Oh what a little piggy!:@)

Hey sanity- you seem to have missed a key fact about the Gore "announcement". It was what is commonly known as a "joke".

You could tell, because it was verrrry stiffly delivered by two people not really known for their comedy. See Gore's reaction after the music starts. He kind of oversold it.

But it's a decent gag, a little self-deprecating, potentially funny.

I thought documentaries were supposed to be factual, not fantasy? This is from Lord Monckton's fisking of Gore's little ditty (I don't have the link handy on this machine, google it if you want the whole document, which is quite enlightening):

•	Gore promoted the now-debunked "hockey stick" temperature chart for the past 1,000 years in an attempt to prove man's overwhelming impact on the climate, and attempted to debunk the significance of the mediaeval warm period and little ice age (for discussion and references, see below).
•	Gore insisted on a link between increased hurricane activity and global warming that most sciences believe does not exist (for discussion and references, see below).
•	Gore asserted that today's Arctic is experiencing unprecedented warmth while ignoring that temperatures in the 1930's were as warm or warmer (NCDC, 2006);
•	Gore said the Antarctic was warming and losing ice but failed to note, that is only true of a small region and the vast bulk has been cooling and gaining ice (see my first article).
•	Gore hyped unfounded fears that Greenland's ice is in danger of disappearing (for discussion and references, see below).
•	Gore erroneously claimed that ice cap on Mt. Kilimanjaro is disappearing due to global warming, though satellite measurements show no temperature change at the summit, and the peer-reviewed scientific literature suggests that desiccation of the atmosphere in the region caused by post-colonial deforestation is the cause of the glacial recession (see my first article).
•	Gore made assertions of massive future sea level rise that is way out side of any supposed scientific "consensus" and is not supported in even the most alarmist literature (for discussion and references, see below).
•	Gore incorrectly implied that a Peruvian glacier's retreat is due to global warming, while ignoring the fact that the region has been cooling since the 1930s and other glaciers in South America are advancing (see Polissar et al., 2005, for an interesting discussion of glaciers in the tropical Andes).
•	Gore blamed global warming for water loss in Africa's Lake Chad, though NASA scientists had concluded that local water-use and grazing patterns are probably to blame (Foley and Coe, 2001).
•	Gore inaccurately said polar bears are drowning in significant numbers due to melting ice when in fact 11 of the 13 main groups in Canada are thriving, and there is evidence that the only groups that are not thriving are in a region of the Arctic that has cooled (Taylor, 2006).
•	Gore did not tell viewers that the 48 scientists whom he quoted as having accused President Bush of distorting science were part of a political advocacy group set up to support the Democrat Presidential candidate, John Kerry, in 2004.

Gee, I never thought I'd say this, but Gore makes Michael Moore-on look accurate! /:)

This was too funny when I read it this morning...

Politician-environmentalist Al Gore made a mock attempt at announcing his candidacy for the US presidency at Sunday's Oscars but was yanked from the stage before he could get the words out.

Queried on stage by actor Leonardo DiCaprio whether he had a "major, major announcement to the world here tonight," former vice president Gore, whose film "An Inconvenient Truth" is nominated for an Academy Award, hesitated, and then pulled out an apparent statement to read.

"Since being up here, you've been very convincing," the Democrat told the audience.

"Even though I honestly had not planned on doing this, I guess with a billion people watching, it's as good as time as any. So, my fellow Americans, I'm going to take this opportunity right here and now to formally announce my intention..."

But suddenly the Oscars orchestra struck up its keynote tune, signalling that Gore and DiCaprio had overstayed their time and had to leave the stage -- and leave the mystery of Gore's intentions for the 2008 race still unanswered.

Gore, vice president under Bill Clinton, narrowly lost the 2000 presidential race to now-president George W. Bush.

Despite the speculation, Gore has repeatedly denied he intends to run for the Democratic nomination in next year's race.

Sounds like DiCaprio and Gore had this planned, since he just happened to have a prepared statement ready when DiCaprio "read his line" of a major, major announcement for the world...

But the best laid plans....

Must have been a Hillary supporter in the Oscar Orchestra....lol

This was too funny when I read it this morning…

Politician-environmentalist Al Gore made a mock attempt at announcing his candidacy for the US presidency at Sunday’s Oscars but was yanked from the stage before he could get the words out.

Queried on stage by actor Leonardo DiCaprio whether he had a “major, major announcement to the world here tonight,” former vice president Gore, whose film “An Inconvenient Truth” is nominated for an Academy Award, hesitated, and then pulled out an apparent statement to read.

“Since being up here, you’ve been very convincing,” the Democrat told the audience.

“Even though I honestly had not planned on doing this, I guess with a billion people watching, it’s as good as time as any. So, my fellow Americans, I’m going to take this opportunity right here and now to formally announce my intention…”

But suddenly the Oscars orchestra struck up its keynote tune, signalling that Gore and DiCaprio had overstayed their time and had to leave the stage — and leave the mystery of Gore’s intentions for the 2008 race still unanswered.

Hollywood Shills for Al Gore

Al Gore won the Oscar for An Inconvenient Fiction Truth. If anyone acts surprised they are a liar.

So the million dollar question: Has he announced his presidential campaign yet? Not quite...
