Uh, you're a little late to the ballgame on this story, Neil - it's already been discussed at <a href="http://sistertoldjah.com/archives/2007/04/04/the-pelosi-syria-visit-and-the-three-republicans-syria-vist-the-differences-and-why-they-matter/" rel="nofollow"><strong>this blog</strong></a> and in <a href="http://sistertoldjah.com/archives/2007/04/05/nancys-pratfall-in-damascus/" rel="nofollow"><strong>several</strong></a> <a href="http://sistertoldjah.com/archives/2007/04/06/friday-caption-this/" rel="nofollow"><strong>editorials</strong></a> as to the differences between Pelosi's trip and the other Republicans, and why they MATTER.

I honestly don't get why liberals are so dense on understanding the significance of Pelosi's visit and why the President, and others, is/are criticizing it. Is it willful ignorance, or are you guys just completely clueless on this?

Three Republican congressmen — Robert Aderholt of Alabama, Joe Pitts of Pennsylvania and Frank Wolf of Virginia — visited Syria separately and met with Mr. Assad on Sunday. And a senior American diplomat, Assistant Secretary of State Ellen Sauerbrey, held talks in Damascus last month with Syrian officials about an influx of Iraqi refugees. Mr. Bush did not mention those visits in his remarks yesterday.

Ugh, Pelosi and Sheehan, butt buddies.

So, has Pelosi announced the date when all Israelis will march into the sea for World Peace?

LOL

"Watching Democrats try to assume the role of ‘most diplomatic' is like witnessing a room full of cats in a barking class trying to make it through the first day. Except in this case, the participants are not even remotely funny."

thats SOOO TRUE!!!!!!!!!

First, I would like to show MS.PELOSI she is number ONE in my book by saluting her and her version of patriotism with my middle finger pointing to the sky!

It shows these Democrat/Communists will destroy this country to take out the Republicans and anyone that opposes them at any cost. Hey, did't Hitler, Stalin, Mao Tse Tung, Hussein, Franco, Castro do this "For the People" too?

They say, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." Maybe Ms. Pelosi is on a Fund-Finding mission to get money from our enemies/her friends. They have to have the money to make sure they regain ALLL the power that was their's and stolen from them by the Republicans and those stupid pathetic little people they have to pander to to get back into office, the American public.

If they destroy our country from within they might be able to stay in power without having to answer to anyone, like the above mentioned dictators and their henchmen did.

Let's just keep talking about it and let the liberals do it to us then we can change the name of the song to "America the Pitiful"!

I was an adult during the Carter years and most of us have lived through President (POS) Bill C. I never felt so ashamed to be an American then and everytime they show up in the news it shows me what a couple of Disgusting Comunist WIMPS they actually were and still are.

I can say I've never found a Democrat/Communist I could stand to vote for and that's not likely to change anytime soon. They are ecstaticly taking this country apart brick by brick, it's being done right in front of our faces and no one is stopping them. The conservatives we elect are scared to take them on because of the hatchet job they do on them and their families to retaliate against their insolence.

The Republicans try to "work with them", that doesn't work. The only thing that works is total victory over Communists/Fascists and beat them into submission just like you have to do with any other bully or a dictator.

I will say the friends of my enemies are my enemies. If they are Americans they are a whole lot easier to make contact with.

We had one Civil War and it feels like we're being forced into another one. The best thing about this Civil War is that Democrats/Communists are afraid of guns. On top of that, it might be easier this time around as they're so stupid they can't tell the difference between their enemies and allies.

The longer we tolerate these Democrat/Communists the harder it will be to get our country back. Bush's big mistake was trying to work with these power addict elitists instead of rallying the people to back them down. You can't negotiate with Cancer, you can only defeat it or die. The liberals are the radical Cancer that is eating our America and it has to stop NOW!

What we need is photos of her in her burka, buddying up to Syria leaders on one side of a split screen. On the other side of the screen, they need to show footage of the death and carnage the Syrian government is directly responsible for, bloody victims of bombings, crying relatives, etc etc. That's what American needs to see (although we never will). Some of us hoped she'd start acting like a grown-up when put in a position of power, but she's just getting more and more childish by the minute.

If I am not mistaken, isn't this what AMBASSADORS are for?

Aren't Ambassadors specifically trained and briefed on all the nuances they will have to deal with when talking and negotiating with foriegn countries?

Is there something special to being a congresspersona that allows them to override the president's foriegn policy and the amassadors that are trained to negotiate and represent American interest on behalf of the president?

When did Congress receive powers to determine or override the presdient on foriegn policy?

When did congress receive the powers to override the presdient when he says, no we will not talk with you right now.

Is the hatred of the democrats for the president so much that they are willing to try and overstep their congressional powers and try and take over or override Executive powers?

I don't remember a republican delegation trying to undermine a democrat president by trying to talk and deal with foriegn powers over the objection of the Executive branch.

Meanwhile, democrats and yes some idiot republicans are over there saying God knows what and most likely making things even more difficult for the president in dealing with the middle east problems.

Democrats have a nasty habit of going to foriegn soil and bad mouthing America and the president. I say America also, because the president is the LEADER, he is the FIGUREHEAD of America, so when you talk trash in a forign country about the leader of America, you are trashing America whether you don't believe it or not, FORIEGN people see it that way. Who was the last one to do this? Kerry?

When was the last republican you have heard go to a foriegn country and talk trash about the president and America?

Please, let me know the republican, because I will gladly denounce them also, if you can find one who has.....

Nancy Pelosi is showing her "Power" in the government now, even to the point of going against the US Government policy which has already denounced any association with the Syrian government. Thus far, no one has been able to change the minds of Syria leadership. What makes Pelosi think she can make any change? Most people must have "appointments" to meet with any government official, does she have any such "appointments" for any meeting, or will she just "show up?" If progress can be made, then "more power to her and her cronies."It is very doubtful, however. Nancy is looking out for to make a "big name" for Nancy.
