What needs investigating is how so freaking many Democrat politicians, sworn by oath of office to uphold and defend the Constitution, are both so totally clueless about what it says, and so uninterested in actually obeying it’s rules. Most of them seem to view it as an inconvenience that keeps them from doing what they want to do, rather than as the code we live by.

sanity, he withdrew the nomination, waited until Congress went into their recess, and then made the recess appointment. Coulter wrote her column after the withdrawal but before the recess. That explains the apparent contradiction.

Regardless, you’re right on principle, of course. It never ceases to amaze me how the GOP constantly tries to make nice with the Dems and libs, and they’re surprised when the Dems don’t return the civility.

Read this in a column by ann Coulter that Fox's name has been withdrawn?

Ah, but I see he has! As we go to press, news comes across the transom that Bush has withdrawn the nomination of Sam Fox as ambassador to Belgium because Democrats are upset that Fox gave a donation to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. There's no hope.

Wed Mar 28, 6:20 PM ET Coulter's Column Is this true? I am assuming he did this before he appointed him then. Probably saw that the Democrats would do the same thig they always do, filibuster and not even give an up or down vote, so instead of a fight, just appointed him. I really think the president should start throwing his weight around now. I agree with Coulter when she says, what is he worried about, them calling him names or the media giving him bad press? He isn't going to win if he goes in softly, so he might as well go in swinging, so to speak.
