Karl, I'm not convinced in the least, and I don't take her word for it, any more than I took Kerry's word for his 'botched joke' not too long ago. What's happening now is damage control, pure and simple.

Even tommy in nyc can see she was making a fool of herself. If not for the quick flashback from the blogosphere and talk radio, she'd still be pushing this idiocy. But then, isn't it just like a leftist - when confronted with some opposition, cut and run.

After reading the update I can fully see Rove turning to return to his table to get away from these to harpies, since crow was jabbing him in the chest - I can see as he turnedto leave her grabbing his arm and almost hear the, "Don't turn your back on us!"

I have seen and heard of many ecounters that Rove has run into, some explosive where people accosted him, and others more civil, and each encounter he was cool, calm and collective.

Their (crow and david) account doesn't wash, making it seem he lost it.

Even then, I wouldn't hold it against him if he did lose it to a degree especially since jabbing him in the chest could be labeled as an assualt.

I am not a lawyer or a cop, but it is my understanding that if you lay your hands on another person without their permission that constitutes an assault.

Assault is often defined to include not only violence, but any physical contact with another person without their consent. When assault is defined like this, exceptions are provided to cover such things as normal social behavior (for example, patting someone on the back)

Link

Now wouldn't that be a news story you will never see....

Two harpies (David and Crow) assualt the President's Advisor (Rove).

Also makes me wonder if Dowd didn't set this up, since she is the one who introduced David/Crow to Rove, hoping tha their will be some type of conflict or get a story out of it.

Dudes must be joking. I mean seriously folks if you cats don't think the industrial revolution which started in the 19th century hasn't harmed the envirioment then you are just delusional. Yeah I know some of us on the left blow it out of proportion but it don't make it any less real. And Karl Rove is trash. If he struck by a bolt of lighting I'd stroll down to the nearest tavern and buy everybody in the joint a drink. And I am not joking.

Tommy how is this a defense of you using the "absolute moral authority" card?? I am sorry but no one here doesn't believe that there is some global warming, what we don't believe is that man is the major cause, especially since the temps are all with in the normal heating and cooling periods the earth has. If man were the major cause then why is mars ice caps melting?? Must be the half a dozen probes we sent to Mars.

You know over 100 years ago the volcano on the island of Krakatoa blew up and destroyed the majority of the island. The scientists at that time said that life will never come back to that island. Krakatoa belched 25 cubic kilometers of volcanic ash into our atmosphere, that is a boat load more polution that man has ever thought about putting into the atmosphere. - Lorica

Heh. Funny about Sheryl's hands and being touched! LOL. I didn't even think about that.

My thing is all about personal space and it sounds like whether or not Crow actually touched him, she got too close and invaded his personal space. It's one thing to do that to an average Joe, but it's another thing to do that to the President's (well, any president's) advisor.

Sounds like a real pleasant pair doesn't it? How dare you not sit there and take it when I'm talking at you!

I've seen it mentioned in the comments on HotAir about how Rove didn't want to be touched, considering Sheryl "One Sheet" Crow and how clean her hands must be if she practices what she preaches, who'd want to be touched?:-&

Link

Seems not all is as the liberal twits like to portray it:

According to David and Crow, the encounter began with a polite request. "We asked Mr. Rove if he would consider taking a fresh look at the science of global warming," they write. "Much to our dismay, he immediately got combative. And it went downhill from there."

The eyewitness remembers it a bit differently. Immediately after Dowd's introduction, the witness says, David began lecturing Rove about global warming. This administration has done nothing on the issue, she told Rove. We face a crisis. The time to act is now. This administration has done nothing…

At that point, Rove broke in to say, Well, actually we have done something. Rove mentioned global climate research, at which point David broke in herself to say, You just don't understand. All these questions have been answered. That's worthless. That's useless.

In their account, David and Crow write, "We reminded the senior White House advisor that the U.S. leads the world in global warming pollution and we are doing the least about it. Anger flaring, Mr. Rove immediately regurgitated the official Administration position on global warming which is that the US spends more on researching the causes than any other country."

The eyewitness says Rove asked David if she had read the IPCC report, referring to the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which, while confirming a human role in climate change, substantially undermines some of the most catastrophic charges made in Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth," which David produced. David said she had read the report. "We felt compelled to remind him that the research is done and the results [the IPCC report] are in," David and Crow write. "Mr. Rove exploded with even more venom. Like a spoiled child throwing a tantrum, Mr. Rove launched into a series of illogical arguments regarding China not doing enough thus neither should we. (Since when do we follow China's lead?)"

In the eyewitness' version, again, David and Crow are a bit more aggressive than their own story suggests. The eyewitness says David told Rove, You need to bring in new people to tell you the truth. Rove mentioned Dr. John Marburger, the White House science advisor. At that point, according to the eyewitness, Crow began poking Rove's chest with her finger, demanding to know what corporations were underwriting Marburger's work. Rove said Marburger had been in academia most of his career.

With Crow jabbing him in the chest, Rove turned to take his seat. Then, the witness says, Crow grabbed his arm. A few more words were exchanged, and it was over. At the Huffington Post, David and Crow described the ending this way: "In his attempt to dismiss us, Mr. Rove turned to head toward his table, but as soon as he did so, Sheryl reached out to touch his arm. Karl swung around and spat, 'Don't touch me.' How hardened and removed from reality must a person be to refuse to be touched by Sheryl Crow? Unfazed, Sheryl abruptly responded, 'You can't speak to us like that, you work for us.' Karl then quipped, 'I don't work for you, I work for the American people.' To which Sheryl promptly reminded him, 'We are the American people.'"

In light of the eyewitness' account, another way of saying it might be, How hardened and removed from reality must a person be to refuse to be jabbed in the chest by Sheryl Crow?

Typical, and as expected. Self important, self righteous, ignorant liberals take it upon themselves to lecture, harass, insult, and basically browbeat someone, and how dare they not like it!

Seems not all is as the liberal twits like to portray it:

According to David and Crow, the encounter began with a polite request. “We asked Mr. Rove if he would consider taking a fresh look at the science of global warming,” they write. “Much to our dismay, he immediately got combative. And it went downhill from there.”

The eyewitness remembers it a bit differently. Immediately after Dowd’s introduction, the witness says, David began lecturing Rove about global warming. This administration has done nothing on the issue, she told Rove. We face a crisis. The time to act is now. This administration has done nothing…

At that point, Rove broke in to say, Well, actually we have done something. Rove mentioned global climate research, at which point David broke in herself to say, You just don’t understand. All these questions have been answered. That’s worthless. That’s useless.

In their account, David and Crow write, “We reminded the senior White House advisor that the U.S. leads the world in global warming pollution and we are doing the least about it.

You Homeboys on the right need to expand your minds bros.

Uh, no thanks. Not the way you choose to 'expand your mind', tommy. Not even if you send each of us an autographed bong.

tommy, for once please try thinking through some of these lefty ideas. If the industrial revolution is responsible for global warming, as you claim, then why was Greenland so warm 1000 years ago that the Viking settlers could set up farms there? That's long before the industrial revolution. What's your reasoning there? You might consider that maybe - just maybe - all of this is caused by the SUN, like CZ says. Especially since we know the same thing is happening on Mars, and to date no one's spotted Martians driving around in Hummers or using excess TP.

Sev's right that your devotion to the global warming line is faith-based, not fact-based. That makes it more of a religion than a scientific viewpoint. In fact, I'd go further - it's not so much a religion than it is a cult. You're all carefully programmed, and heretics even receive death threats. Meanwhile, the spokesmen for the cult, such as al-Gore, make themselves rich on the backs of the sheep who buy into it.
