It’s all choreography. The compromise solution has doubtless already been worked out. Now they’re in the process of selling it to the various constituencies.

After all, Kos and the other Stalinists must be able to write that the president “gave in” and Captain Ed (who should know better) must be able to welcome Harry and Nancy to the big leagues (when in fact they’re already there).

This morning, I saw a video clip of the Congressional Leaders meeting with President Bush to discuss the “next” Supplemental Bill and seated to the President’s left (how appropo) was Harry Reid. And what impressed me at first glance was how Reid LOOKED sitting next to the President. Reid appeared a very little, wounded man.
