Is Jimmy Carter to blame for the rise of Al Qaeda?

I think they’re stretching it a bit, but Investor’s Business Daily attempts to make their case that he is to blame here.

Well, it kinda did start with jimmah but you will hear nothing from the msm or the demoncrats on this tidbit, it’s all Mr. Bush’s fault.
It pisses me off big time when david gregory and others call him Mr. Bush — he is the President of the United States.**==

President Carter failed to act when Islamo-Fascists took our people hostage, but it existed long before he was in office. The Barbary wars in Thomas Jefferson’s time was a fight against these same principles. The conquest of Spain in saw the same ideology. Many will tell you that the fight with this ideology came when Abraham had Ishmael by a slave and Isaac by his wife and the argument over blessing.

Mekan, Abraham sent Ishmael & Hagar away, and the Lord said that the covenant with Abraham was for all his children, not just the Son of the promise. So Ishmael was blessed too.

The argument over the blessing came with Jacob and Esau. Where Jacob with the help of his mother stole the blessing that should have been Esau’s. Now here again the Lord looked over Esau, and blessed everything he laid his hands to. Even to the point that Esau and Jacob made up and Esau forgave Jacob for stealing his birthright. – Lorica

Ohhh and far as Jimmy goes. He is to blame for alot of it. He blah blah blah’d about how bad the Shah was, but didn’t say boo when Kohmeni was killing 3000 people a week or when is death squads were pulling people out of their homes, especially women who didn’t want to live in the 7th century again, and having them brutally tortured or imprisoned or murdered. Nope I don’t remember Carter saying anything about that. – Lorica

It did actually start under Carter. Iran’s seizure of the hostages and our subsequent failure to do ANYTHING sent the message that you can stick your finger in the eye of the U.S., you just have to know how to do it. After Khomeini took over he began the export of radical Islam all over the world.

Don’t get me wrong, there really wasn’t much Carter could do about that. He certainly was responsible for the impotent U.S. foreign policy at the time, however, I don’t blame him for Iran spreading radical Islam.
