Iran's seizure of the hostages and our subsequent failure to do ANYTHING sent the message that you can stick your finger in the eye of the U.S., you just have to know how to do it. After Khomeini took over he began the export of radical Islam all over the world. Don't get me wrong, there really wasn't much Carter could do about that. He certainly was responsible for the impotent U.S. foreign policy at the time, however, I don't blame him for Iran spreading radical Islam. It did actually start under Carter. So Ishmael was blessed too. The argument over the blessing came with Jacob and Esau. Where Jacob with the help of his mother stole the blessing that should have been Esau's. Now here again the Lord looked over Esau, and blessed everything he laid his hands to.
