Is this man actually advocating civil war as a means for this terrorist group to gain control of Palestine??? What is wrong with these people?? Hamas is one of the most repressive groups of individuals on the planet. They are lead by Iran, their only concern are people who agree with their style of Islam. Good piece in the Jerusalem Post about Carter's role in the entire issue of terrorism today. Today, Iran is the catalyst for almost all the violence in the Middle East - Hamas, Hezbollah, al Qaeda, you name it. The columnist traces the ascendancy of this large-scale organized terrorism back to Carter's help in overthrowing the Shah.

Carter asked for an in-depth report on Iran even before he assumed the reins of government and was persuaded that the shah was not fit to rule Iran. ... Khomeini could never have succeeded without Carter. The Islamic Revolution would have been stillborn. Gen. Robert Huyser, Carter's military liaison to Iran, once told me in tears: "The president could have publicly condemned Khomeini and even kidnapped him and then bartered for an exchange with the [American Embassy] hostages, but the president was indignant. 'One cannot do that to a holy man,' he said."

So Jimmy considered the insane mullahs who run Iran to be 'holy men', even after they attacked the US Embassy. And clearly, he's learned nothing at all in nearly 30 years since. To be fair, there really are positive some things you can say for Carter: - His wife wasn't as scary as Bill Clinton's wife. - He gave us one thing Clinton never could: Ronald Reagan.
