Aitch748: Reverse it for a bit and consider if you want to be pressed into a decision that's nobody else's to make for you. Some want to know because they can really drag out the muck buckets and pry bars and dig through your sixth grade class records. Some want to know because they wish you the best and choose to support you.

I for one wish that they would all STOP campaigning for years on end. Doing the job they were elected to do and getting proper results is all I ask for. Three to six months in advance of the election is plenty of time to announce ones intentions. It may however, not be enough time for the slander groupies to amass and lie in ambush hoping to Nifong their opponents, in spite of the candidates qualifications to perform the job he/she seeks.

I don't think it's a tease.

Oh yeah, THIS guy. THIS guy, who has announced that he has COME TO A DECISION but won't tell us what that decision is. Well, maybe he will in August. Or September. Who knows? :-w

Meanwhile the stories continue to trickle out that suggests that this guy is no George W. Bush -- that is, he was of one mind about things five years ago but now is the favorite of people who want him to be of a different mind now.

You could argue that the same applies to Rudy, but at least Rudy has already declared himself and is willing to take his lumps. I'm wearying of the stream of will-he-or-won't-he stories about Fred Thompson. I'm starting to feel the same way about these stories as I was feeling about the stream of Paris-Hilton-in-jail stories. Maybe it's just me, but teasing me is not a good way to keep me interested.

Not only that, but in a hypothetical match-up against La Clinton, he's not doing well there, too.

That's not what you meant to say, is it? :-?

I am sorry, but I think this man is too slick. Cigars, savvy with a camera, says what people want to hear, sucks up to pundits...sorry, but that reminds me of someone else that was president not too long ago.

I don't think Thompson is a liberal or anything like that, but back when he was in the Senate, he was very much like McCain right down to his attitudes on immigration and McCain Feingold. I don't think there is anything wrong with that, but at the same time I think he is doing a little pandering and some of these people do not need to be pandered to. They are already too big for their britches. Every since Dubai I have been thinking some of the pundits out there need a good seift kick in the rear, not a lap dog.
