I mean, not literally. Stupid general. He should have known better than to express his idiot opinion. “Hey, look at me, some big fancy pants general, going to talk about a war, like I know anything at all about that topic!” Fortunately this highly educated and intelligent legislator was having none of it.

Please nobody point out that a general is a “troop” or ask why that one particular troop isn’t entitled to support. And when the Dems say we should “listen to the generals” they’ll give you a list of which particular generals to listen to. I mean, obviously, you can’t waste your time listening to all the generals.

Does it ever. Along the same lines, take a look at this disgraceful display of disrespect for the troops.

A Dem congresswoman from Kansas was annoyed that a general testifying before her committee wasn’t negative enough about the situation in Iraq. So she got up and walked out on him. Here’s her explanation:

“I just will make some statements more for the record based on what I heard mainly General Keane. As many of us, there was only so much that you could take until we, in fact, had to leave the room for a while, and so I think I am back and maybe can articulate some things that after so much of the frustration of having to listen to what we listened to.”

“But let me just first say that the description of Iraq as if some way or another that it’s a place that I might take the family for a vacation, things are going so well, those kinds of comments will in fact show up in the media and further divide this country instead of saying here’s the reality of the problem and people, we have to come together and deal with the reality of this issue.”

In other words: I’m not interested in hearing about the success of the American troops. That will “divide the country” – meaning people won’t want to follow us into surrender – so stop talking about it. We want to hear about how AQ is winning!!!

ST, I think the ’support the troops’ mask is gone. And the real face that it was supposed to hide is incredibly ugly.

Not at all, ST. I remind you of GWR’s First Law of Moonbat Politics: Nothing is as important as gaining and retaining power.

To the leftists who control the Democrat party, the enemy is not AQ, or the Taliban, or the entire islamofascist movement. They do not stand in the way of the leftists’ thirst for more power. That would be George Bush and the hated Republicans.

Whether something helps or hurts America is not important to them except as viewed through the prism of the First Law. In this case, the success of the US military would reap political benefits for the White House and the GOP, and therefore it is a bad thing.

So they’re not wishing for failure, they’re wishing for success…of the people who can help them most politically. Right now, that happens to be AQ.

Clyburn said that would be “a real big problem for us.”

But remember, the Dems really do want us to win in Iraq.
