This is a case of the elites closing ranks to cover their own butts. William “Chilly Willy” Jefferson is not the first politician to keep incriminating evidence of his wrongdoing in his office, and the rest of the Capitol Hill Gang know full well he won’t be the last.

The way I read it this decision is pretty meaningless. They have to give back his legislative-related documents. The real decision will come later when this goes to trial and the defense tries to get all the rest of the evidence thrown out because some papers were collected “illegally.”
