TNR ran it because it agreed with their pre-existing biases and fit the propaganda they wanted to push. It was, to their view, possibly fake but “accurate” in that it supported what they wanted to believe about both our troops and Iraq. Which says a lot about TNR, and none of it good. Add to that the way they dodged and obfuscated when cornered on this, and their “we’d love to comment but we’re on vacation” dodge, and it’s a dishonorable, wretched affair, but unfortunately not surprising, the left loves this kind of fake but accurate BS. I would note that every conservative blogger I’ve seen who made a mistake has publicly, and quickly, acknowledged it and made a correction. Check out how our own Sister here, and Michelle Malkin, for examples, have handled such things for a good example of how it’s supposed to be done.

Tommy managed to put out a large, long post that addressed absolutely nothing relevant to the topic at hand, which is the traditional liberal dodge. Go off topic early and sling a ton of excrement in the hope that some of it will stick and drive the discussion in another direction. Shame on you tommy. You know you won’t get away with that here, I thought you were beginning to understand how things work, at least in this forum.

All of these things that you've commented on in the negative because you've bought the BS crap from the dominant legacy drive-by media for a generation and won't open your mind up towards the positive virtues of what conservatives are saying. You can CHOOSE to thrive on negativity the rest of your life or CHOOSE to try to figure out what it is we are saying and get behind our efforts REALIZING that they are noble and GOOD efforts.

Well part of the problem ST is that anyone that voices dissent towards how and why this nation even wound up invading Iraq in the first place gets smeared as being soft on the war against terror. It is truly amazing just how skilled the G.O.P. spin machine is as effective as they are but yet their rheortic rarely meets reality. Before I continue I would like to add that sensatiolism sells. See since March 03 about 2 million Iraqi’s have become refugees,tens if not hundreds of thousands of civilians have been killed and an inefficent,unaccountable,untrustworthy and basically corrupt Iraqi government has been formed. I always find it curious why for example that for years as Iraq was developing into civil war members of the 43 Admin at the highest levels Cheney,Rummy,etc were almost dismissive of the insurgency prattling off cliches like dead-enders or die hard baathists? Yet amazingly enough when us Dems win the House and Senate(as I correctly predicted I might add) all of a sudden a troop surge was ordered and once again when us Dems dissent we’re labeled as defeatocrats? This nation would be better off to slowly and gradually get out of Iraq. The strain this conflict has placed on our servicemembers and their families is just not right. It just gets old that right-wing blogs and media outlets like FOX smear anyone who just don’t believe what’s going on in the sandbox is the correct cours of action.
