Well gosh, Jesus, I guess you missed the song lyrics in the original post. Let me repeat them for you:

One 44, two 45's
3 loaded clips, 4 niggas roll, one nigga drives
500 Benz, 6 reasons why
This kid should die
We shootin every m—–f—er outside
Pulled on his block, jumped out the car, guns in our hand
At the same time everybody ran
There that nigga go, hiding in the crowd
Let the trigger blow, 7 shots now he lying on the ground

Yeah, that sounds alot like self defense. Not glorification at all, what was I thinking?

Also, suppose a country signer sang about lynching African Americans and then said something like "I'm just signing about actual events" How do you think people would respond?

WHo's afraid of Bill Oreilly?
ANyone who reads not just the lyrics above but many of the lyrics couldnt possibly condone Nas playing at this concert. Someone made a BIG mistake and instead of fixing it , quickly , they are going to let it build up and explode in their face. Dont take my word for it, Just watch it play out.

"University officials say they've received nothing but positive response since they announced the concert's line-up recently and have no plans to change it."

"NOTHING but POSITIVE response?" -This statements to absurd to comment on, they are just digging a deeper hole.

Now the above commentor states "I am not saying that having Nas wasn't a bad move"...but then turns this into a Fox News/Bill Oreilly/Republican issue to Keep Nas. You should keep the politics out of this reprehensible mistake. Your fighting a losing battle of an indefensible position because of politics.

He then goes on
"O'Reilly is notorious for his distorting facts, inciting riots, denouncing people and threatening boycotts on organizations."

"threatening boycotts on organizations" - absolutely, and with great success
"denouncing people" - every day
"distorting facts" - well thats subjective feel free to give an example
"inciting riots" - Really? when? where? give me ONE example, that's ,and pardon the pun, Ludicris

"Please do not fall into the trap of allowing Bill O'Reilly ruin a free concert!"
Your trapping yourself by taking an absurd position that you Know is wrong Just because you hate Bill Oreilly.

"Please inform those involved in African American culture that Fox News is now targeting hip-hop!"

Fox news has targeted hip hop for quite awhile. So has Oprah, and many African Americans who are fed up with what the violent and sexist messages in some (not all) artist's songs are doing to their youth.

Go to the top of the page and read Nas's lyrics again. We are going back to a campus where 32 peope were shot to death, 25 wounded. The Families of those victims WILL have the last word. If Nas plays HEADS WILL ROLL - and Im talking to the University President. Start polishing up your resume.

* (just for the record I think you meant 'was'nt'
instead of was - sorry if i 'mis' corrected you
"am not saying that having Nas was a bad move")

Lets get one thing straight, Nas is definitely not the best choice to preform at this event, but enough with the generalizations. Advocates shooting people? Glorifies voilence? Its ovbious that you all havent listened to Nas's catalogue. As a matter of fact, i challenge you all to find one song were Nas is advocating, encouraging, glorifying gun violence for no apperant reason. Im sure you'll be hard press to find one. the content of his music is primarily comprised of ghetto stories, survival stories. revenge and protection. which is quite ironic since Bill O'Reilly advocate protection by gun ownership and there are many who think that guns should be allowed in school for protection. All nas raps about is protecting himself, his family and enterprise. just go listen to " I gave you power".

I changed your name from "Jesus Christ" - please don't use it again. --ST

I am informing you about the controversy about your free concert at Virginia Tech.

I was listening to Bill O'Reilly's radio and television program, and recently the commentator is now planning on denouncing this planned concert in September.

Highlighted performers John Meyer, The Dave Mathews Band and Nas are scheduled to perform at a free concert!

O'Reilly, a known conservative on the Fox News Channel has threaten your president of the university as well as Nas. O'Reilly is urging his audience to denounce and remove Nas from the concert.

I know that this a long shot, due to your busy schedule and your commitments to the online community, but I am asking you not to allow Bill O'Reilly and his conservative viewers ruin the concert.

I am not saying that having Nas was a bad move, but if he's there to inspire people affected by the tragedy in April, I believe that the university should allow the rapper to perform.

I am certain that my voice is one of millions who may of seen or heard The Radio Factor or The O'Reilly Factor after the commentator got involved are to respond to your site in the near future.

I am using this as an advance to ask for you to inform Nas or his publicist about the situation. The people that support the decision for Nas to perform may eventually be targeted by Bill O'Reiily and/or Fox News. O'Reilly is notorious for his distorting facts, inciting riots, denouncing people and threatening boycotts on organizations.

Please do not fall into the trap of allowing Bill O'Reilly ruin a free concert! Please inform those involved in African American culture that Fox News is now targeting hip-hop!

I am hoping that my comments will make a difference! I pray for the victims of the Virginia Tech tragedy and hope for some closure to all that were affected by the shootings.

Thanks for reading

Why they would want a rapper who advocates shooting people dead at a memorial concert is beyond my comprehension.
