Note that Dems have been scoffing at Petraeus's "report" for the past few months precisely because we knew it'd be little more than a PR stunt for the WH.

And you have some proof of this, I presume, or are you just tossing out unsubstantiated charges as usual?

Your mindset is that any report that notes progress is a politically motivated WH stunt, regardless of the facts. Duly noted.

It must be uncomfortable to you, then, to see analysts at the left-wing Brookings Institution and Der Spiegel suddenly becoming Bushbots. How dare they not follow jpe's leftist script and shake the pom poms for an AQ victory!!

I've said it often before: conservatives put country first, and party far behind that. Leftists put partisan objectives above all else, especially the country. Thanks for proving it once again.

Ah, yes "jpe" - what does Petraeus know, anyway? An obvious chickenhawk.

Keep guzzling the Kool-Aid "jpe" - it helps keep your bubble from being burst by reality.

Note that Dems have been scoffing at Petraeus's "report" for the past few months precisely because we knew it'd be little more than a PR stunt for the WH. This is just confirmation; if you thought differently, you're retarded.

Re: drawdown: another Dem prediction. Regardless of the facts on the ground, Bush would pull out and declare victory. This seems to be unfolding exactly as many libs predicted. Because we understand just how scummy Bush is and just how stupid conservatives are to let him.

Tony Blankley calls for holding Democrats responsible for their defeatism on Iraq.

Excellent idea! The health of our political system (not to mention a little thing called justice) demands that Democrats as well as Republicans be held accountable for their actions. But this is the GOP that we are talking about - a.k.a. The Stupid Party.

Given Republicans' recent history of cringing under fire, it's not hard at all to predict what will happen next year. The MSM and their Democrat pets will pull their patented "don't question our patriotism - we'll question yours instead" routine, and RINOs like Luger, Specter, Snowe, Collins, Hagel, Warner, etc. will snap to attention and do as they are ordered.

Recall that after the US won first the Cold War and then the Gulf War, Bush #1 got bounced from office by the Frat Boy-in-Chief. Recall also that Rick Santorum pointed out that WMDs were found in Iraq - and got smeared into defeat for his efforts. How can you have success and honesty in government when you have a political system that punishes success and honesty?
