    I spent a few years in the Arctic. One of the best memories was the Aurora and another was during *Breakup*, when the sea ice would melt into crystalline candle-like columns. As they would become softer and appear to grow longer with the warming shoreline, they would teeter with the wind and crash into each other. The high pitch tones were like a thousand breaking chandeliers and with each gust the wind gave birth to the natural musical instruments, in the form of a one shot note from a fading salty pillar, augmented by the domino-ing effect and wind passing through the ice forest before me.
