Well at least the Times made this their lead story in the print edition today instead of burying it inside as they did the last time one of these rings were broken up, on the grounds (as the editors would tell the public editor, Mr. Hoyt) that the plot hadn’t succeeded.

Anyhow: Excellent work by the Germans. They even managed to infiltrate the hydrogen peroxide and replace it with a less harmful substance.

Who cares whether they were al-Qaeda this or al-Qaeda that or al-Qaeda all around the town. They were terrorists.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

It doesn’t even make the beginning of a sense: “Americans in Germany have been a target of Al Qaeda for years now, thanks to Germany’s involvement in Afghanistan”

If that was indeed the case, I’d rather suspect AQ would blow-up, say, Germans? (just from the top of my head.)

After all, when AQ claimed they had Spain to blame for her involvement in Iraq (and that little Al-Andalus real estate disagreement), they saw to blow-up Spaniards (and every non-Spaniard unlucky enough to find himself on the train). Same goes for the Brits in London.

Now when one looks at the fact that the Madrid attack was in the works way before Spain had anything to do with Iraq, it’s more than time for Europe to wake up and realize that whoever’s involvement wherever is nothing but one among AQ’s many professed grievance to trigger the “white man’s guilt” and so weaken the West’s resolve to defend itself.

A wise strategy when it comes to Europe. I mean, it works…

Steve I do question the timing of this, but not due to Rove’s involvement. I question AQ’s involvement. I think it is possible that these guys are a diversion so the real terrorists have a better chance at an attack if we are not diligent. This has been a reoccuring thought to me this whole day. I am not convinced that we should breathe easy until after the month of September is over. These individuals want to harm us, and they love to tie attacks together to demoralize, which if you are a dyed in the wool Dem would take a ballon pop to demoralize ya. I understand what you are saying tho. I am surprised that we have not heard cries from Nancy Pelosi about Rove and all the same blah blah blah over and over again. – Lorica
