Anyway, the biggest problem with going home with lefty girls (taking one home is out of the question for me unless I cover up all my bookshelves – and I guess my DVDs too – and for sure my ship models and photos – and definitely my gun safe) is that whatever you do, eventually you are going to have to, er, talk with them. I hate to be indelicate, but there’s no nice way to say it. Sooner or later you have to have a conversation with them.

And you and I both know nobody wants that.

Colorado Students Walk Out During Pledge, Recite Own Version

About 50 Boulder High School students walked out of class Thursday to protest the daily reading of the Pledge of Allegiance and recited their own version, omitting “one nation, under God.”

Washington, D.C., Judge Issues Bench Warrant for Cindy Sheehan

A bench warrant was issued Thursday for antiwar activist Cindy Sheehan, who did not appear for arraigment Thursday in a Washington, D.C., courtroom to face charges related to her Sept. 10 disorderly conduct arrest at the Capitol.

Judge, didn’t you hear? Cindy’s above the law. She’s fighting for the overthrow of our goverment, she can’t be bothered with your draconian laws!!!!!
Besides, you’re just going to give her a $25 fine anyway, so why bother.

Not sure about all the details of that incident, but sadly enough there are people in this country who should not be wearing a badge.

MORRISVILLE – When Morrisville police officer Chris Gill handed him a ticket, Kent Kauffman coughed. Next thing Kauffman knew, Gill was charging him with assault on a government official.

Gill contends Kauffman intentionally coughed on him three times. According to Gill’s report, Kauffman looked into the officer’s eyes before “hacking” in his face, Morrisville spokeswoman Stacie Galloway said Wednesday.

Kauffman acknowledges that he coughed two or three times from the window of his Dodge minivan Tuesday but said it was toward Gill’s waist.

“He says I coughed in his face,” Kauffman said. “But that would only work if he had a 4-foot-long face.”

Kauffman said that Gill cuffed him and threw him into the side of the patrol car, and that he ended up on the ground.

“It knocked the wind out of me,” he said. “He kept yelling at me to get up. I told him, ‘I can’t move, man, I’m sick.’ “

Kauffman, an accountant for Accountemps in Chapel Hill, said he developed a cough after his dog, Blair, died of kidney failure last week. He said he was still stricken Tuesday but went to work because he needed the cash.

Kauffman was traveling on McCrimmon Parkway just after 8 a.m. when Gill pulled him over for not wearing a seat belt. Gill charged Kauffman with a Class misdemeanor. If convicted, he could spend up to 60 days in jail.

…. A Wake County judge will decide the intent behind Kauffman’s cough.

Report: Saddam Sought Exile, $1 Billion Before War

Less than a month before the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, Saddam Hussein signaled that he was willing to go into exile as long as he could take with him $1 billion and information on weapons of mass destruction,

Now why would Saddam Hussein want to take information on WMD’s with him? I mean, he didn’t have any right?

A student carrying a rifle was arrested today on the St. John’s campus. What was he wearing? A GWB mask.

LOL! I mailed a GWB mask back to one of the soldiers I had worked with when I was home on leave one year. He wore it around when they went to the Iraqi police stations. He said the Iraqi policemen went wild! They all wanted to have their picture taken shaking the soldier’s hand as he wore the mask.

Dems Discuss Iraq Withdrawal at New Hampshire Debate

The leading Democratic White House hopefuls conceded Wednesday night they cannot guarantee to pull all U.S. combat troops from Iraq by the end of the next presidential term in 2013.

But how can this be? Certainly the dems would not waste the lives of American soldier’s over a war they have deemed a quagmire, disaster, and failure…right?

Senator Clinton, you have been a big critic of Bush and the war, even though you voted in favor of the use of force. So now that you feel the war is failing, surely you will immediately withdraw all troops if elected, right?

“It is very difficult to know what we’re going to be inheriting,” added Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York.

Oh, I see Senator. Well, Mr. Edwards you voted for the war as well, but now that you are running for president and have also declared the war a failure and you are so concerned about the “common man”, I know that you will withdraw all the troops, right?

“I cannot make that commitment,” said former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina.

Hmmmm, I see a trend here. However, Senator Obama, you voted AGAINST this war and have been under the opinion that it was a mistake from the word go. I am sure that you will withdraw our troops from this huge mistake, right?

So basically, you are all bashing President Bush for not doing what you yourselves would not do, is that correct?

Hypocrisy is an amazing thing.

I know they’re icky, but spideys are our friends, and take care of lots and LOTS of less desireable bugs (especially mosquitos and other biting insects). I’m always kind of glad to see ‘em out in the yard and in the flower beds. Inside is a different story, though. If they spin a tiny web in an isolated corner, I leave ‘em alone (reasoning they wouldn’t be there if there was no food for ‘em to snare). But if they get in my space, I’ll try to grab ‘em with a kleenex and toss ‘em outside. The less cooperative ones get flushed, however.
