I gave up on Marvel Comics ages ago. When the Golden Age of Lee, Kirby and Romita brought us Cap, Fantastic Four, Sgt. Fury And The Howlin’ Commandos, Iron Man and Spider Man.

Jim Streanko re-vamped Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D., which was cool for awhile.

Arch Goodwin and Walt Simonson’s “Manhunter” rocked for a very short time, won many awards for DC Comics in the 70’s and set the tone for comics up to Frank Miller’s “Dark Knight”.

Marvel may have expanded its “Universe” of characters, but has paled very badly in comparison.

- And his resolution will be rejected on the grounds that he is being “insensitive and bigoted for singling out badly misunderstood evil guys who suffered from abusive an abusibe childhood”. Just makes you want to join in a group hug, light candles, and all join hands in a Kumbya sing-along.

I just read a report on the news that said that there was quite an uproar because they were bringing back Captain America.

The pressure was so intense that the creators of Capt. America have changed him completely. From now on, he will be known as Captain United Nations and he will wear a light blue uniform, just like the helmets the UN soldiers wear. He will not represent a single country, but all nations.

Instead of a gun he will carry a phone so that when evil strikes, he can call them and try to find out why they are evil.

After passing the “global test” as to whether or not the bad guy is really evil, Captain UN will present his arguments as to why they should draft a resolution declaring said bad guy evil.
