[...] Sister Toldjah: This is just one more reminder of how much it stinks to have the Keystone Cops in charge of the House and Senate in a time of war. These people don't have a freaking clue. [...]

<blockquote>Democrats were concerned that Republicans would have prevailed on a technical motion that says nothing in the bill should interfere with the surveillance of Osama bin Laden, al Qaeda or other terrorist organizations.
</blockquote>

An absolutely beautifully worded amendment.

The Dems couldn't openly oppose it. Would you want to be a Democrat running for re-election next year - especially in one of those toss-up districts they won narrowly in 2006 - and seeing ads about how you voted to give Osama immunity from wiretaps?

And if it passes, it guts the actual reasons for the whole bill, which are appeasing the extreme left and making it damn near impossible for the administration to conduct surveillance in the WOT.

- <em>"...should interfere with the surveillance of Osama bin Laden, al Qaeda or other terrorist organizations."</em>

- Which has exactly what to do with "protecting the American people?"

...Anyone?..... Bueller?

- The Dems have forever matked themselves as surrender monkies, doing everything they can to hobble or limit our ability to fight the WOT. The Left can bloviate, deny, and generally try mightily to hide that fact in a sea of nuance, but everyone over the age of 7 is aware that they need a defeat in Iraq to stand a chance in '08.

- The Reps caught them with their political pants down by cleverly introducing the "recommit" resolution at the 11th hour. Every Dem knows what a tightrope they're already walking in the first place, and now its without a net. Damn right they're confused. They deserve it. No matter which way they go, they could lose big time. Theres evidence that even a number of Dems are beginning to wonder how they'll survive if the notion they've tried to greese the skids for the Jihadists for another successful attack on American soil, just to make the Reps look bad, becomes obvious to the majority of voters. You live by sedition, you die by sedition.

- Looks like Hillery picked the wrong year to quit drinking.
