Open Post Of The Day

Posted by: Brian on October 18, 2007 at 5:08 pm

I’m dealing with some unhinged libs over at Liberty Pundit, courtesy of a Salon link, so consider this an open post for the rest of the evening.

I’ll have some more stuff for you guys tomorrow, I promise. =)

  1. NC Cop says:

You have got to be kidding me:

Hippie Museum Funding Proposed by Hillary Clinton Shot Down in Senate

A freaking hippie museum?! Is this what we are in store for from president Clinton?!?!

    God help us all.

  2. Severian says:

The EBay bidding for Rush’s letter from the Dems threatening Clear Channel is up to over $841,000 with about 19 hours to go. I just can’t believe that, but good for Rush.

Now, is the main bidder the DNC to try and make it go away? Heh…:d

  3. Brian says:

John Hawkins had a post the other day about the nuts at the Democratic Underground hatching a plan to mess with the auction. It’s entirely possible that about half of those bids are fraudulent.

  4. Severian says:

That wouldn’t surprise me. End justifies the means and all. After all, once you start endorsing voter fraud and lying if the cause is, like, really important, attacking Republican campaign offices, a little electronic auction fraud is easy to justify.

  5. sanity says:

    Doubtful.

You have to pre-qualify with Rush before being able to bid.

  6. sanity says:

By the way, if the current bid is currect:

    Current bid: US $2,000,200.00

And remember, Rush said he would MATCH the final bid for the charity also.

So if the bid is 2 million, Rush will pony up 2 million for the charity also.

Thanks Dems, you ‘donated’ something for worthy cause.

  7. Brian says:

    Hadn’t seen the pre-qualifying thing…makes sense, though.

  8. Great White Rat says:

Brian, yes, it’s there on the eBay site. Pre-approved bidders and buyers only.

As of now, with less than three hours to go, the bidding is up to $2,100,100. Like sanity said, Rush is going to match the bid.

He’s also challenged the 41 senators who signed the letter to do the same. Fat chance of that…leftists think charity means having the government confiscate someone else’s money and dole it out. Although I’m sure John Kerry could raise that much by asking Teresa for an advance on his allowance.

  9. PCD says:

GWR, I think Kerry’s allowance has been cut off since he bought that big, polluting jet for his campaign and he did not win making THK empress of America ala Frau Clinton.

  10. Great White Rat says:

PCD, you’re probably right. Maybe Mikey Moore could cash in some of the Halliburton stock he claims he doesn’t own and donate it.

On another note, I saw the post at Liberty Pundit about your father. Please accept my condolences, and know that you’re in our prayers at times like this.

  11. PCD says:

10, GWR, Thanks for the condolences. Dad will be having a military funeral. I’ve asked that any gift/rememberances from my work be in the form of donations to the Wisconsin Veterans’s home and to ask the Chaplain’s Office for suggestions.

  12. Great White Rat says:

So now Harry Reid tries to take credit for over $4 million going to a very worthwhile charity, and of course, the MoonbatStream Media is helping with the spin.

Check the way ABC News puts it: Bidding Over $2M for Dems Anti-Rush Letter.

    The usual bias oozes through:

Democrats sent a letter calling for Rush Limbaugh to be reprimanded for calling soldiers who opposed the war “phony soldiers.”

A lie, of course, as anyone who listened to the remarks in context knows by now. But ABC can’t let an insignificant detail like the truth get in the way of rhetoric, can they?

The closing is either insanely unhinged spin or sentence structure worthy of a 5-year old:

No mater what, Democrats are going to make a ton of money for a charity off their political vitriol.

Excuse me?? The Democrats are making money for the charity? Yeah, right…I suppose Harry and Chuckie and Hillary and the rest got on a conference call and someone said “you know what would be really neat? Let’s all sign a letter to Rush so it can be auctioned off for a couple of million bucks for charity.”

Hell, if the Dems thought the letter could raise that kind of money, they’d have figured out a way to get the cash to their campaign funds, not to a charity.

Also, there’s no mention at all that Rush challenged the 41 signatories to match the bid. Can’t make them all look small and cheap, you know.
