Panthers at the Packers (UPDATE: PANTHERS LOSE 31-17)

Posted by: Sister Toldjah on November 18, 2007 at 12:49 pm

Sigh. Do I really want to watch this game?

We know about the quarterback situation, and on top of all that, WR wonder kid Steve Smith has been declared “inactive” due to a shin injury.

Yeah, the Panthers have a better road record than home, but they’ll be playing at Lambeau Field today.

It’s gonna be a lonnng three hours.

Update: Favre and the Pack put on a clinic, easily defeating the Cats 31-17.

Well, while there’s a good reason y’all won’t be favored, surely you’ve heard the expression “any given Sunday.”

  2. steveegg says:

You could just let me watch it :d

    7-0 Packers off a poorly-executed fake-FG pooch punt.

  3. steveegg says:

If you guys could keep Atari Bigby isolated, you’ll have a chance. He just stinks.

  4. steveegg says:

I should update the score; 7-3 Pack after 1 quarter.

  5. steveegg says:

Next week, ST. The Saints are nothing on the road.

  6. LOL – we’ll see, steve ;)

  7. steveegg says:

Do I really want to give the halftime score?

  8. Lorica says:

This game ain’t over with yet. The Pack have always sucked in the 4th quarter and could easily give up a big lead. It wouldn’t be the 1st time, and if it happens today it won’t be the last. – Lorica

  9. steveegg says:

I don’t want to give ST false hope.

  10. But they’re playing the Packers, Lorica, which means any Panthers comeback will probably be too late and not enough … :(

  11. Lorica says:

    TOUCHDOWN CATS!!!

  12. Lorica says:

Dear :) If the Pack screw up and the Cats capitalize on that, they could win this game yet. It is now only a 18 point game and the 4th quarter isn’t even here yet. – Lorica

  13. steveegg says:

Well, the 4th quarter’s here, and the Pack is driving.

The only thing keeping the Panthers around is the donkey of a kicker we have.

  14. Lorica says:

Steve do I notice abit of fear and trembling in your post???

  15. Ya’ll are a trip!

  16. steveegg says:

Not a chance. I’m just trying not to swear here (there’s an open thread at a place I help bartend at, TheWisconsinSportsBar, that I’m doing all my swearing at). ;)

  17. Lorica says:

Well the Cats definately needed to capitalize on that last drive. :(

  18. Lorica says:

    TOUCHDOWN CATS!!!!

  19. steveegg says:

    I only hope it’s too little/too late.

  20. Lorica says:

28 to 17 :) Cats really needed to score on that previous drive

  21. Lorica says:

I would not have done the on-side kick if I were the Cats :(

  22. steveegg says:

My Pack -10 is still safe :-ss

  23. steveegg says:

They still needed 2 scores, and time was against them.

  24. Oh well – at least it wasn’t a complete blowout!

  25. Lorica says:

Well this game is probably over :( Sorry Dear :(

  26. steveegg says:

    There’s still 2:35 left, and it’s still a 2-score game. Trouble is, it’s a 2-TD game.

  27. Lorica says:

Good Try Cats. The Pack is a damn tough team this year.

  28. steveegg says:

Sorry, ST. Next week for sure.

  29. PCD says:

    Steve,

You sound like a fair weather Packer fan.

  30. steveegg says:

I was trying to behave here.

  31. PCD, I’m sure steve is the real deal :)

  32. steveegg says:

Thanks for the defense. Of course, I didn’t see 9-1 for the Pack.

  33. NC Cop says:

As happy as I am about the G-men’s win tonight, it was not a pretty one. They better brush up on that offense because they have some real challenges coming up.

  34. PCD says:

NC Cop, thanks for the win. Now, I’ll really be thankful when the Pack spoils Detroit’s turkey.

Steveegg, hope you don’t mind the ribbing.

ST, Sorry, but you got Farved.

BTW, what the H*LL possessed Fox to try that stupid punt out of field goal formation?
