I would like to clarify that burning wood produces just as much carbon dioxide as natural gas heating, but has an increased “carbon footprint” because you are removing carbon offsets (trees). Also, it is highly inefficient and produces harmful particulate matter. It is the “SUV” of heating. So, from economic, environmental, and health standpoints, it is wise to not use your fireplace too much if you don’t have to.

Sterilization sure beats the crap out of abortion … too bad their parents didn’t give it a try! Having had 4 children I can safely say it’s not for the weak minded, or faint of heart. I, for one, say “thank you” to the women and men who have selflessly spared the rest of us from the threat them procreating.

Regarding the issue of wood burning fireplaces … I live in Kern County, and while utilizing our fireplaces this year has been “discouraged,” it hasn’t been restricted. When I first moved here 6 years ago that was one of the biggest shockers for me … having to call a 1(800) number to see if it was “OK” to have a bar-be-que!
