Haven’t had a chance to read over this in depth, but just from a quick scan, I like what I see. Looks solidly conservative and fiscally sound.
Now if we could just see some fire in that belly!

“Looks solidly conservative and fiscally sound.”
Yes, he is. Go, Fred!!!
I think we are going to see Fred’s big push coming on now. After listening to him speak at a town hall meeting in Greenville, SC on the 8th, I believe he placed little importance on the Iowa and NH caucuses, and has conserved his energies and financial resource for the southern States.
In his fiscal plans for a Thompson presidency, he is the only candidate, besides Ron Paul, who is willing to speak out about the incredibly reckless spending habits of the government over the last two decades that is leading to the bankruptcy of the U.S., and to ask that government officials and citizens alike do what it takes to fix the problem. This is the monster in the closet that no other leading candidate wants to talk about, but – mark my words – when Fred begins to stump hard, you’ll see the others adding it into their campaigns, playing ‘follow-the-leader’ to Fred… again.
Go Fred!!
I, for one, don’t want fire, flash, glibness, or any other window dressing. I am perfectly fine with a candidate that simply speaks, and produces a specific plan that is not a pile of catchphrase crap and lawyer blahblah. The more Thompson jabs a thumb into the collective eye of journalists and tells them to F-off the more I like him.
And no, I have not settled on anyone. I am an Independent, have been since 1980. And I vote mainly Republican, though in locals I have voted for Dems and undeclared. Person has the qualifications for the job, I hire them.
His ideas are solid, his record is solid, but his national political name is not. I am so hoping the S.C. can change that! This country is very very close to financial melt down. Will make the 1930’s look like the Clinton years. I for one don’t want my country run into the ground like that. Excuse me while I go give Fred some more $$.
Mahwah, Iowa is a caucus, New Hampshire is a primary. Also, Fred spent a great deal of time here pressing the flesh, having town hall meetings, and not the Hitlery kind where only certain people can get in. He brought in some pretty solid numbers and it showed in the Iowa caucus. Many of my friends who were saying that Fred is going no where, are now taking a 2nd look at him. Locally he was here 4 times, was even here soon after Christmas. This really is important to him, and I firmly believe he is the best candidate out there. – Lorica
Lorica, I stand corrected. I should have stated he placed little importance for his campaign in doing well in New Hampshire. Iowa was important, and he got what he went there for – his ticket to the dance. I couldn’t agree with you more about him being the best candidate out there, as I’m sure you’ve seen from my previous posts here, and I do believe winning is important to him, and that we’ll see lots more of Fred in the coming weeks showing the nation that he’s got the ‘fire in the belly’.
I like Fred’s slow burning well thought out coal burning fire. I think after the Dem field narrows you are going to see passion. Not just in our candidates, but in ourselves. Conservatives are getting stoked, that is evident in some of the posts here. As the opposition party continues to speak their ideas about change, we are realizing just how much is at stake. I am still trying to wrap my mind around “change”. What exactly needs to be changed?? What can they do to make things better?? More Jobs?? Unemployment is at 5%, under the Clinton administration that was “statisically” full employment. I guess they got that one wrong. There is a half a percent of people who still want jobs. Iraq is going pretty well. So well infact that you don’t hardly hear anything about it in the drive by media or even the Dem candidates. Economic growth?? Well from what I know, it seems to be doing well. The thing that needs to be changed most is the runaway spending of Congress. And the only person I hear addressing that, is Fred. I am with the many on this page, GO FRED GO!! – Lorica
Can’t wait to see Fred tonight in the debate!!!
