I have learned through my life and most wise people know that most things can’t be credited on any one thing — e.g. the troop surge. No level of troop surge would make Iraqis any more able to govern themselves, and all the former troop surges had failed. The difference now, if this is a success (I think it’s too early to call), is that the Iraqis are ready to lead themselves. Sure, it may have helped, but so may have the threat to pull troops helped light a fire under their butts and made them stop sitting on the fence.

This would just be fun to watch if not for the fact that when one of the two wins the nomination, anything the Republican nominee says will be treated by the campaign and the media as either racist or sexist. The Democrat race could well be decided by who can best play the victim card.

Interesting to watch the Dems eat their own.

Even more intering is that the Dems were going to give us a first in the election: The first woman or the first African-American President. But instead of doing this on a level of purity and qualification, they using it as way to bludgeon themselves a path to power.

I don’t think this was MLK’s dream. They both should be utterly ashamed of themselves.

And then there are Jackson, Sharpton and Steiniem (sp?). If I were black, female or a black female I would be utterly ashamed to have them as my “representatives”.
