Edwards obviously forgot to mentioin that Reagan was President of the Screen Actors Guild–a union–before he became a Republican. Perhpas it was his experience in that position that allowed him to see some of the real damage unions can do to the economy.

(Don’t get me wrong. There are some good things unions have done, but when they go so far as damaging the employer enough to drive him/it into bankruptcy…well, that’s when it’s time to draw the line. They have failed their members when that happens.)

it’s still breathtaking to see how some Democrats ignore that it was only last week they argued before the Supreme Court that an Indiana law requiring voters show ID at the polls would reduce voter turnout and disenfranchise minorities.

No it isn’t. I expect it. Remember how the Gore campaign worked every possible angle to disenfranchise the military voters in Florida in 2000? It would be more breathtaking if they suddenly stopped underhanded politics.

To the left, “disenfrachisement” means someone who was going to vote for them doesn’t get to vote. That includes dead people, illegal aliens, felons, and people who are denied a second or third vote on election day. The term doesn’t apply when someone who might vote against them is prevented from voting.

If you think this is subverting democracy, just wait till November. They’re just tuning up for the main performance.
