Somebody needs to ask NOW if they really believe that their RACIST!!!!! position is really representative of America's women. Are they really so threatened by the possibility of a Black president?

Is this the state of modern feminism 8 years into the 21st Century? We've been dutifully subservient, and expected the quid for the quo, and will happily continue to put up with all manner of offenses if only you pay us what you owe us.

"I am woman, here me bleat." Not much of a posture for modern feminism, but then, that was always the devil's bargain Clinton feminists bought into.

On the other hand, you have to wonder if this isn't, yet another, Clintonista manipulation. Hillary as the offended Spouse! The Man owes it to her for all she put up with!

It got Hillary a Senate Seat. Maybe that's what the Clinton's are scrambling for, along with Race Baiting and lip biting. A little dash of Wronged Spouse for good measure.

What's even more absurd about NOW's position is that they pretend to be advocates of women succeeding on their own, independent of any man. You know, the old "a woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle" bit.

So do they endorse a woman who's done that? Nope - Hillary is the molecular opposite of a self-made woman.

Suppose for a moment that Slick failed to win the Democrat nomination in 1992, or that Ross Perot didn't run, resulting in the re-election of Bush 41. Where would Hillary be today? Most likely still padding her bills and shredding files in the Rose Law offices in Little Rock.

What do you think would have happened had she popped up in Manhattan in 2000 and said, essentially, "Hi! I'm the wife of the governor of Arkansas, and I want to be your senator." The urbane New Yorkers would have told her, not too politely, to go back to the double-wide and not to let the door hit her in the ample posterior on the way out.

So we have the ridiculous scenario of NOW, which pretends to advocate female self-sufficiency, bleating because that idol of respect for women, Teddy the Swimmer, is not endorsing a woman who owes everything to her husband's success. If I were them, I'd be asking whether Mary Jo Kopechne agreed with the endorsement, but sadly, she's unavailable for comment.
