[...] The Sister notes Ralph Nader’s announcement yesterday with an even bigger yawn than I did. I don't think this will have much of an effect on the presidential election, primarily because Democrats believe that Nader's third party run in 2000 cost The Goracle the presidency (well, they believe that and also that the USSC "stole" the election for Bushitler). Nader's just doing one of the things he does best, and that is stealing a little limelight for himself and creating a few waves, generating a buzz that will (I believe) be shortlived.
Nader's not going to siphon many votes this time. For one thing, the DNC is going to lock him out of as many states as they can, just as they did in 2004. For another, all of the people who vote on nothing but emotion are swooning over Obama already (although the enthusiastic youth vote has a tedency to not happen, because those enthusiastic youths are generally more into partying than voting). And finally, even true progressives are capable of learning from bitter experience and will conclude that Obama is the best deal they are going to get and vote for him.

And to be fair, were I bent on crippling America by destroying businesses and crushing the citizenry under taxes and regulation while at the same time dismantling our military, I'd have a hard time choosing between Nader and Obama, all else being equal.

Oh, yeah, that's right, WORSE OFF! Nader should have been person of the year for 2000!

As a conservative, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Ralph Nader for his 2000 Green Party presidential campaign. He siphoned enough votes from the left away from Al Gore in Florida to allow George W Bush to squeak by, and win the presidency. The Republican Party, the United States in general, and the whole world, are much better off thanks to Mr Nader's efforts.

And I'll add my personal thanks as well: thanks to the Bush tax cuts, which Mr Nader made possible, my family has saved over $10,000 in income taxes!

Ralph Nader: he did more good than he ever knew!

Go Ralph Go!

The man who helped save us from an Algore presidency is going for another encore. The irrepressible Ralph Nader is throwing his hat into the presidential ring as an independent and maybe he can siphon off enough Democrats and lefty independents to on...

The DNC will wage legal challenges to keep him off of the ballot, and the MSM will cut off his publicity.

All the while arguing that giving the voter fewer choices is helping the voters express their intent, just like disenfranchising military voters by throwing out their absentee ballots insures that their voices are heard. :o

Let's see....

The sun came up today.
Took my dogs for a walk.
Ate a fattening breakfast.
Ralph Nader wants to run.
My back hurts.
Gas prices are high.

Sounds like a typical day to me :)

Crazy Uncle Declares He's Running For President

Ralph Nader, the perennial candidate for President, has decided to run again. It makes me wonder what Ron Paul will think since the crazy uncle routine was Nader's gig before Ron Paul stepped on the national stage.

Exit question: Who does the Nad...
