On a related note ... somewhat related...

Report: Anti-War Judge Rejects Foster Teen's Bid to Join Marines

This is what will happen if conservatives decide to stay home in November to "teach the GOP a lesson". Have not the last two years made any impression? A lot of people tried that in 2006 and only made things worse.

Well, K, as history has shown, the Republicans have had to clean up the messes of the democrats.

Nixon had to clean up the Vietnam War, started by a democrat.

Reagan had to clean up the mess of Carter, a democrat, and quite probably the worst president we've ever had.

Now President Bush has had to clean up the failures of Clinton, a democrat and quite probably the second worst president we've ever had.

Can't really argue with you about the spending part, the Republicans lost in 2006 because they behaved too much like democrats with regard to fiscal spending.

The next few years will erase anything resembling the conservative or historical concept of the US.

Which is exactly what scares me, as well as anyone who has been paying attention to world events for the last 30 years.

The people are about to elect the government they deserve.

Much of it already exists. With a total majority in all offices the Democrats will complete the process. The next few years will erase anything resembling the conservative or historical concept of the US.

The GOP had their chance. And they squandered it, ineptly, grabbing and greedy, making any deal to stay in office. Limited only by never having total power.

Now the Dems will flood in. They have all the flaws of the GOP but with a massive majority they will have no constraints.

My opinion on polls is well known here. And although I don't doubt that there is going to be a long hard fight for us Reps. I seriously doubt the clueless at the NY Times have any ability to see into the future. Let's face it, if they did, we would be looking at the nomination process being all but finished and Guilianni and Hitlery being our candidates. But Guilianni didn't win a single state, and Hitlery is in the fight of her political life, with a newbie. =)) I will worry more about this sort of thing come Oct 1st. - Lorica

There's no reason for me to bother voting for Senate. As long as Daley controls Illinois, Durbin has a guaranteed 317 million to six win. My so-called Republican congresswoman voted to keep paying the ACLU for suing to destroy America and ignores my paper mail.

It's a thousand feet to the voting booth, but this year it probably isn't worth the bother.
