If John Ashcroft were caught in a prostitution ring, which is ludicious thinking, I would be one of the 1st people calling for his resignation. I seriously doubt you would see Mary Matelin out on the talk shows trying to defend him. Idiots saying that we are backward regarding our morality. We know what prostitution does to families. If there is backward thinking in this country, it is the modern liberal party and thinking that prostitution is a freeing lifestyle, it’s not most prostitutes are slaves. But what do you expect from people who want to hold control over other’s lives like a our modern liberals.

This is different than Vitter, Foley or Studds, who had 100 or so others to counteract their bad judgement and perhaps bias. Today we see this goes back to Spitzer’s time as NY AG, the guy who has final yea/nay on all prosecutions in New York State.

Anyone who thinks that this guy should remain should consider this ..

Day 3 of the “Will Spitzer resign watch”. We are standing outside the NY Gov’s mansion wondering if Elliot Spitzer,(NY) is going to actually resign today. There have been several sightings of Mr. Spitzer, but no one has been able to confirm that he will actually resign. Back to you Campbell. – Lorica

I agree with DavidL. After watching Hilly the Hun’s spouse successfully evade justice time and time again, I would not be surprised to see it happen again in Spitzer’s case. America is devolving into a banana republic where the ruling party (Democrat) can do no wrong.

What would be the reason Democrats would be forced to oust Spitzer? Hypocrisy because he prosecuted prostitution rings? Not enough. Remember that William Jefferson Clinton posed as a feminist – and he stood credibly accused of sexual harassment and rape. Did any Democrat hold him accountable for that?

Malfeasance? How much time did Ted Kennedy do for murdering a young woman? Is William Jefferson (not Clinton) behind bars yet? The 11th Commandment of American politics states that “Thou shalt not hold a Democrat responsible for their actions.”

Mark this: Every hour that Spitzer stays in office lessens the chance that he will go. Don’t be surprised if he comes out of this politically stronger, especially if the MSM starts the its-just-about-sex meme again.

The threat to introduce a bill to impeach Eliot Spitzer was made a republican, who are the the minority in the New York State Assembly, as always. The bills will need democratic suppport to pass.

I don’t think Spitzer will have anywhere near the blind level of support that B.J. Clinton got from the democrats when he was impeached. However I suspect that the democates in the Assembly are not ready to impeach on of their own.

I agree with Don. Rush just had a sound bite of all of these Dem talking heads, Carville included, saying that this is no big deal. I would like to see Carville walk into his house and tell Mary Matelin that he just had sex with a prostitute. These guys continue to sink into a depth of depravity that is seems to be bottomless. I almost hope that Spitzer holds on until he is impeached. It just keeps this thing in the news all that much longer. – Lorica

His lead supporter at the impeachment trial will be none other than James “Snakehead” Carville who has already shaken the slime from his pit off his shoes and come forth to slay the nasty Republicans on behalf of Saint Hillary. How Dare George Bush attack Hillary’s main supporter, Mr. Spitzer, by setting him up through the Justice Dept. to create this lie.

If anyone needs to be attacked in this country it is the scum like Carville who look truth in the face and stand it on its head for a buck.

Stand nowhere near this man in a lightening storm if you value life – he doesn’t.
