A return to a wild west style of justice

That’s the first thing that came to my mind after reading this sickening story of what an 18 year old b-stard did to a 5 month old girl while her mother was at school.

Why, why, why would anyone want to do something like this to an innocent child? I’m sure the perp’s lawyer will try to explain that the perp, too, was “abused himself as a child” (or some other defense along those lines) but frankly, it’s incomprehensible to me that anyone would want to abuse and violate a child – (especially if happened to them when they were kids), so much so that the damage could be lasting – both emotionally and physically.

Of course, I realize that the wild west style of justice has no place in a civilized society, but sometimes there are crimes committed that are so reprehensible, so heinous, that a tiny part of you yearns for society to be able to exact some some old fashioned justice on the scumbag(s) responsible. This is one of those times.

There are definitely some sick, twisted people out there.

  2. Keep in mind that the West did not just miraculously “civilize.” It became more civil as the bad guys found the price of their profession increasing beyond their ability to pay.

In other words, the good guys whacked the bad guys until there weren’t as many as once. The cavalry, the sheriffs and marshals, and the citizens won the west, with the help of Mr. Colt.

This is one of those times that a Vigilance Committee would be more than appropriate. We know that the defense lawyer is going to snivel about his “poor upbringing”. this will in effect remove the personal accountability and responsibility aspect.
Tango Sierra, minimum of life with no parole. Preferred: the needle. Of course the gallows would be much more fitting.
