I wouldn’t call BO an idiot, but the more I hear him opening his mouth the more I think that he is dangerously naive. I would love to see a debate between BO and McCain on foreign policy, because BO will get his clock cleaned. As much as I am unhappy with McCain about amnesty, global warming, and the gang of 14, among other things, If it comes down to McCain or Obama, it’s pretty much an easy choice.

Where oh where is Carly Simon when we need her? “You’re so vain, you prob’ly think this song is about you…” Barack Obama has the world’s biggest ego, which doesn’t bother me nearly so much as that big fat, Wright-originated CHIP on his shoulder. His hair-trigger assumption that the speech was “all about him,” when the President can easily and with good reason, say it was about Jimmuh Carter, scares me. Obambaby is just too inexperienced and too full of himself for my comfort level. I think there is a lot of smoldering, repressed anger under Obama’s cool, hip, calm exterior. And yes, I am a therapist and while I can’t diagnose him, I can call what I see as I see it.

McCain surprised me, but for once it was a welcome surprise. So far I have not been right about much in this election.

Sometimes I wonder if there are two John McCains. The one we saw yesterday and today is the one I can support despite misgivings about many of his positions. When in doubt, vote for the person who will make the best Commander in Chief. That’s obviously McCain. I would also like to seem more of the deficit hawk McCain.

But then there is the other stuck-on-stupid McCain who talks way too much about amnesty, global warming, and media shield laws, and who publicly demeans himself because he failed to vote for the MLK holiday over two decades ago.

The former has a chance of winning in November. The latter merely hands the White House to the Messiah.

I am reluctantly concluding that Obama is an idiot. Or perhaps he’s so afflicted by tunnel vision that he can’t see beyond himself. There’s a comforting choice to face. The smart way to respond to Bush’s speech, assuming that it had to be responded to, was to say “Oh yes, I would never negotiate with terrorists.”

Now, like an idiot, he’s put himself squarely on the side of appeasement, while claiming that he isn’t. Had he thoughtful acolytes and disciples, then perhaps… oops. I think I just put my finger on why his people won’t hold him accountable. Acolytes and disciples don’t do that the the Chosen One.

I got out of bed this morning, something that took “real courage.”

After that, I courageously faced the adversity of being out of ground coffee, I had to find some beans and grind some, and I tell you, that grinder is noisy and scary, and it took real courage to use it.

I wonder what wonderfully courageous feat I’ll perform before lunch?

Damn, I should be a Dimocrat!
