Sorry, I can’t buy into the Hagee thing. Hagee strikes me as one who is so far right he has trouble turning left. Aside from the fact that his comments regarding certain Christian branches not his own are wildly offensive (my husband is RC while I’m an Episcopalian — yeah, I know, “Catholic Lite”…) I find it difficult to believe that McCain would have actively sought this guy out for support of his campaign.

As for the formation of the Israeli state, ok, it has been argued (successfully, I might add) that Israel was birthed where it was when it was out of a Great European Guilt for past offenses. Not that those offenses were small; aside from the hideous crimes perpetrated by the Nazis, for a thousand years European Jews were pretty much limited to careers in the moneylending fields which European royalty used as their personal (and disposable) banking system. And when loans couldn’t be paid back, royals would once again divest their states of jewish communities in an attempt to allay the inevitable ruination of crown credit. It strikes me as odd, however, that the assuagement of Great European Guilt could not be overcome to the extent at which the wounded party was actually offered arable, productive land with effective water resources. Remember that Israel was plopped in an area of Palestine that even the Palestinians weren’t using too much.

What about that. Something about history, ignorance and repeating things comes to mind….

And just as an aside, Webb’s a weenie. I live in VA so I can say that. Posturing? Absolutely. He has all the spine of a cheese curl.

Forget the atheists. Just put the liberals who claim they are faithful believers on the spot and ask them point blank. Could Jeremiah in ch16 be talking about Hitler as the hunter? We’ll find out some things about them real quick.

I am not a big Hagee person, but there are somethings that he is spot on about. As far as his comments about the formation of Israel, I have to wonder, if they could have been better delivered. Honestly, would Europe had the outpouring of sympathy and would Great Britain have given over the Jordan area, had not the Jews suffered in the way they had. How many times in the Old Testament had God used this very same situation??? Let’s see, 1st there were the Egyptians, then the Persians, after that the Assyrians, then the Greeks, the Romans finally scattered them completely with a mass crucifixion of over a million men, women, and children, and a 2 year siege of Masada, in which every person was killed.

The Arizona senator had earlier renounced comments from Hagee that termed the Catholic church “the great whore” and “an apostate church.”

Were these comments not future tense?? In the endtimes/rapture circles it is expected for the liberal Priests, that have been to long guiding the Catholic Church into ever increasing deception, to themselves be deceived by the anti-christ, and they will accept the leadership of the false prophet, and place the chruch under the anti-christ. Now the people that have been screaming the most about the recent incidences of sin and deception in the Catholic Church are now pretending to be offended by comments made by someone else?? I have heard alot worse coming out of the mouth of liberals than this. – Lorica
